Pop Quiz for Glen Sather

Please rank the following five defenseman according to the number of points they have:

Cory Cross
Marek Zidlicky
Tom Poti
Bryan Berard
Kim Johnsson

If you had the four guys you either traded away for underachieving veterans or let walk for nothing on top, and the supposed world-class talent that would be the successor to Brian Leetch at the bottom, then you were correct.

But, whether you were correct or not is irrelevant, because the fact that you traded away an excellent young player who was the heart and soul of the team for a pansy of an offenseman that doesn't produce is only one of a myriad of reasons you deserve to be fired.

I think that you have to include Maladog and Schnieder in this group. For that matter, maybe we should include Klee and Bobo in this as well. After all, there were a few of us that pleaded for either Klee or Marchment and got Vlad II (Krispy) instead. Not that Bobo has been nearly as bad as his twin. But neither of M&M are fit to carry Klee's jock right now.

It should be noted that Berard has also appeared in 16 fewer games than Poti and has 2 more points.

---And that Bouchard has 1 more assist in 20 fewer games. Seriously, how can Nancyboy be on the top pairing for 35 games, getting plenty of time on the PP, and only have 5 assists?

He's a DEFENSIVE DEFENSEMAN remember?? Oh wait, that's not what he said. ;)

Friends: you're forgetting that other juggernaut of defense that Slats graced us with -- Igor Ulanov. I must say he had a most distinguished career as a Ranger. :D

York is the edmonton oilers right now. The guy is loved by everybody from the waterboy to GM Lowe to every fan in the building. Amazing efforts every night, great production from sometimes so-so linemates...the guy just has it all: speed, grit, intensity, hands, vision, defensive awareness, pp and great pk ability...a guy who just thinks the game at a far superior level than most. Amazing player....thanks a lot sather.
