Hooking and Obstruction Hooking

Whats the difference between the two?

None, except that technically, there is no such thing as obstruction hooking, at least for USAH. There's only hooking.

As far as I know obstrustion hooking is hooking when the guy is out of the play or doesn't have the puck. Like i.e. its a 2 on1 and one defending rushes hard back and hooks a trailing player to slow him down to catch up even though he doesn't have the puck. Maybe? Like interference except with hooking.

That was my take on it. You will see a lot of obstruction calls in the pre-season, then they lose the onstruction part during the season. :dunno:

Just to inform the fans it was off the puck. It used to be called interference if called at all. So it's more informative.
