This could be a gigantic win for us. We would be 1 win away from .500, and I like our chances. The Nashville/Edmonton games have always been exciting to watch, so I recommend everyone tuning in for this contest! Its going to be fast and furious!

crossxcheck 11-02-2007 12:14 PM

I'm assuming Mason gets the start since Ellis played last night?

quartermaster29 11-02-2007 12:23 PM

START MASON WHILE PLAYING DEFENSE FIRST IS FRESH ON THE PLAYERS MINDS!!!!

Last night was a 'late' game and they are playing earlier today. Ellis played a great game last night and that's all awesome... but we NEED to do something to get Mason's confidence going again. I say while the idea and win is still fresh, start Mason in net and tell the skaters to do the same thing all over again... 5 men back on D.

Not only Mason but the teams confidence in him needs to be built back up.

NYMASONFAN 11-02-2007 05:27 PM

Mason's confidence has got to be low, however Ellis' is Sky High, we have to ride the hot wave of this young kid. Who cares that they are playing back to back, ride the hot wave. 2 shutouts in 3 starts, ride the wave!!!

spot 11-02-2007 06:19 PM

Wow judging by our records this should be a fairly even tilt. The Oilers need this game tonight, as they play 8 straight against division rivals. They need the confidence boost. Nashville needs to build off their big win against the canucks ,and try to keep the ball rolling. Should be a fast one!

FYI keep an eye out tonight for Oilers RW Robert Nillson. He draws into the line-up tonight. I expect him to be creative tonight.
cheers.

Apparently Oiler's pregame has said Ellis is starting tonight..:dunno:

Enoch 11-02-2007 08:14 PM

Alright, I'm laying the law down now. Edmonton fans, you can come in and post, but if you start flaming and trolling - its instant infraction. Our fanbase has had enough from other boards, so rail on Tootoo if you want......but do not go overboard.

Kotton 11-02-2007 08:16 PM

His shoulder hit him in the head :dunno:

Thats not illegal as defined by the rules so hopefully theres not too much noise about it here.

Unfortunately for Roy... he just sorta seems to be made of glass?

*edit I don't think the damage was done by the initial hit anyways, more-so the way his head went into the boards after. Once again Roy is hurt because of his own poor positioning

He left his feet did he not? Too bad your team has such a shady character playing on it!

Uhh.. I'm an Oiler fan, and I don't think he left his feet.

spot 11-02-2007 08:25 PM

You don't think he left his feet? It's not debatable he either did or he didn't. If you watch the replay he LEFT his feet.

Kotton 11-02-2007 08:27 PM

Sometimes players leave there feet as a result of the force of contact? Ever play minor hockey? They teach you to explode upwards into the hit.

Quit being so damn sensitive, this is the same team that has Raffi Torres, who 25 other teams whine about for absolutely no reason.

Enoch 11-02-2007 08:28 PM

It did look like one of the feet left the ice prior to the hit, but it definitely wasn't a full scale jump-hit. I think the problem was that flew so far in the air/into the boards (due to Tootoo's velocity coming in...)

spot 11-02-2007 08:31 PM

yeah it will be interesting to see if this will be reviewed by the league. IMO He left his feet and made direct contact with his head.

Are you people logging numbers on our average number of GDT posts too? :sarcasm:

golfmade 11-02-2007 08:59 PM

Solid first period, back and forth, 2nd should be even better.

Guess we gotta kick it into gear, I heard there's some sub-clause that in addition to the attendance issue if we don't make enough posts during games that we have to pay a penalty.

It has been a depressing off-season and season...cut us some slack.

golfmade 11-02-2007 09:26 PM

Tie game 1-1, damn.

We know how you feel man, believe me, we know. We may have traded 4 million and Stamkos for Penner :help:

braindead 11-02-2007 10:04 PM

Legwand is having a strong game. He doesn't have that pothead look on his face from years past either. This isn't informative or useful but I'm trying to keep your GDT count up.

I'm considering adopting a policy of posting every time DeVries is a step behind the puck or an opposing player... but I may have to sort of work my way up to it over the course of the season.

We also need to stay out of the box... penalties in the 3rd period of the second game on consecutive nights is a recipe for disaster.

braindead 11-02-2007 10:12 PM

As of the 11 minute mark of the 3rd it looks like our legs are officially gone.
