Nashville is 3-5 on the road. Detroit is 5-1 at home.

Preds/Wings/NHL team preview
Quote:

Detroit went 6-1-1 against Nashville in 2006-07, the decisive factor in the Wings edging their division rival by three points for the No. 1 seed in the West. The Red Wings won one less game than the Predators, yet had 113 points to the 110 of Nashville and Anaheim.

Detroit will have had six days off following a bizarre stretch of schedule in which it played a four-game western road trip against U.S. teams before returning to Joe Louis Arena for two home contests. The Wings then headed west again to face Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

Seventh day of November. New month, new results.

irisheyes555 11-07-2007 03:46 AM

would like to see ellis in goal so we can get some idea how he does against the big boys rather than just the JVs. already got 6 pts on this roadie which is more than i had hoped for going in. anything tonight is gravy, but we do need to make up for the 6 losing streak.

Enoch 11-07-2007 08:16 AM

I want to win this game so bad, but the way Detroit is playing..they have to be the favorite tonight ESPECIALLY at home. Lets hope that the 14 shots we get on net, manages to get 2 or three in the twine.

Jarnberg 11-07-2007 09:06 AM

We'll be lucky to have more then 10 shots on goal tonight.

Here's to the team actually scoring a goal tonight...

golfmade 11-07-2007 09:17 AM

Goes with out saying but we could use a win in this game. Whether it's Mason or Ellis I don't care, just get the win.

jstreet 11-07-2007 10:08 AM

I think Ellis gives us a better chance to win tonight, our transition game will be better at least.

crossxcheck 11-07-2007 10:30 AM

This one is going to hurt :help:

vopatsrash 11-07-2007 10:51 AM

Summon the ghosts of this 45 shot Detroit game, Trotzy.

He needs to bring out Rick Pitino to do the "Cliff Ronning's not coming through that door, Ville Peltonen's not coming through that door. Rob Valicevic's not coming through that door. Brant Myhres isn't coming through that door." speech.

barrytrotzsneck 11-07-2007 11:19 AM

And if they do, they'll be old and gray.

I'd like to go with Ellis tonight. Gelinas WILL be in the lineup tonight, playing with Tootoo and Nichol as our fourth line, per Coach Peterson.

Jarnberg 11-07-2007 12:30 PM

Gelinas might as well stay injured if he has to play with Nichol and Tootoo...

Seth Lake 11-07-2007 01:10 PM

The Tennessean is reporting that Mason will start in net tonight.

very nice GDT, kuddos :handclap:

Good luck tonight.....no, sorry I don't mean that ;)

PredsMan 11-07-2007 05:05 PM

can anyone find this on directv HD?

looks to me like they're not picking this one up

PredDave 11-07-2007 05:22 PM

realistic optimism....

Red Wings 7
Predators 2

:amazed:

Enoch 11-07-2007 06:44 PM

Direct is supposed to be showing it on the NHL Network. Unfortunately, the NHL network is having problems and is just running highlights. Typical........its not being broadcast anywhere else.

Jarnberg 11-07-2007 06:59 PM

According to NashvillePredators.com, the game will be blacked out on NHL TV and shown on FSN in the Nashville area.

Not sure about other areas.

---

Typical start for the Predators. Cleary bangs one in at close range and Arnott fails to capitalize on a similar play.

The shot counter in Detroit has to be on crack. We had just registered our first shot on goal after the Detroit PP goal. I wonder why the other shots in the period didn't count? Not that it matters.

Jarnberg 11-07-2007 07:14 PM

Cool, phantom interference call on Arnott. (I didn't see any intent to knock his stick away, it looked to me like he was skating around and the stick hit him as he was going around).

Oh, well. Lucky to escape down only 1. I'm sure that will increase as this game goes on.

Perhaps we'll hit 10 shots before the game is over.

Enoch 11-07-2007 07:34 PM

I love how the Red Wing announcers are laughing at Zidlicky's injury....

icuwoot 11-07-2007 07:40 PM

How were they laughing at his injury?

You act as if he tore his ACL, it was a cut on his ear, jeez. :shakehead

You registered on these boards to post this?

icuwoot 11-07-2007 07:56 PM

If you look at my reg. month....it says Sept. 2007

If you look at today's date it's November 7, 2007.

So yes I created an account 2 months ago, to comment on a Nashville, Detroit game......

Cool.

Nice first post too.

icuwoot 11-07-2007 08:01 PM

Had to happen sometime, eh? :D

Nashville needs to get it going...I mean the shots look insane towards Detroit, but it hasn't seemed as dominate as the shots would seem. Detroit seems to be playing a little better but it isn't out of reach...hopefully the Preds get it going a bit. Mason's made some good saves too.

Enoch 11-07-2007 08:04 PM

Zanon is horrible on the 5 on 3. He always takes himself out of the play by trying the shot block there....YOU CAN'T DO THAT ZANON!
