Is there really a difference between these 2 Bauer skates?

Ok.. stupid question time, other then the price and name is there really any deference between Nikesí Bauer Vapor XXII and Vapor XXV? Hockey monkey doesnít really give any info other then what Iím guessing theyíve cut and pasted from Bauer.. and Iíve not really found any good reviews or comparison.

i think the more expensive skate is lighter weight and fits better to you size foot.

xeric716x 11-16-2007 09:38 PM

the XXV is lighter

sc37 11-16-2007 10:51 PM

Weight is one due to the outer material being slightly different, different liner, and different footbed.

Depending on your weight, how often you play, and your skill level. The XXII might be enough skate.

Thanks for the reply guys... without really being able to see the skates in person it's hard to tell really what the differences are...

Think I'm going to take we're gonna wins advice and go with the XXII.. just play 3 or 4 times a month in an adult league and some drop ins when I have time.

The XXII is not thermoformable and has a slightly less rigid boot where as the XXV is full upper heat moldable. Internal gripliner in the XXV is better/more durable. The full texellium lower on the XXV is much more durable. Your going to get more comfort from the get go and longer life from the XXV

i personaly have the xxv's and i love them. (i am only a bantam though)
