Thanks, flagship station.

Can you blame them? I'm sure there's an obscure college basketball game that simply must be shown tonight, instead.

Play like we did Saturday and we'll come away with 2 points.

No goalie stays as hot as Toivonen was for more than a short time.

Is Toivonen expected in net again? Or will Legace be back?

Pick your poison heh. Legace always plays us well and Toivonen played fantastic Saturday night.

How are the Blues announcers for CI? I could listen to Pete and Terry since I would have the visual and wouldn't have to rely on them to actually communicate what was happening. There tends to be a delay though which makes it disconcerting to try to watch and listen.

I don't know why but I really, really want us to win this one tonight.

Sounds like my experience. I hope mr "prepare to be embarassed!" is watching, tonight.

predperson 11-19-2007 08:21 PM

there is a link in the GDT over on NP.com to be able to watch the game on your computer.....very clear stream. :handclap:

PeterAngelo 11-19-2007 10:14 PM

had to be pred killer boyes and kariya that sunk us :shakehead

Enoch 11-19-2007 10:16 PM

We are simply offensively challenged. I thought the effort was there, and we controlled zone time for long stretches of time........but we just can't finish right now. If one of our big guys goes down, we are in trouble, especially with how sparingly we use Radulov.

????

Weber and Zidlicky had much worse games tonight than Suter.....

braindead 11-20-2007 12:08 AM

Weber was rough looking tonight-- he will be fine but he is not back at game speed yet on either end of the ice.

Do you mean Arnott? Arnott didn't play because of a neck strain. Suter dressed.

If there is no one between the shooter and goalie why do some players always look for a pass? :pullhair:

How bad is it that I didn't even get excited to see Erat or Radulov (see, I can't even remember who) on a breakaway.

I didn't think Legace had to make all that many hard saves. He saw everything as no one goes in front of the net on a consistent basis.

We always seem to get burned by goals from behind the net to someone right near the top of the crease for a quick shot. Meanwhile Bonk was behind the net all by himself and no one else was even in the zone for him to make a pass to.

Nice shot by Weber and better tip by Bonk.

I think this was the worst weekend I have ever done with my sports teams. Preds lose twice, Pens, Pitt, Penn St., and the Steelers lose to the ****ing Jets! 0-6. :pout:

For all our "dominance" on Saturday, Toivonen saw all those shots, too. They're not getting traffic to the net at this point. Not a lot of dangerous shots.

Our contract calls for 55 telecasts per season, so 27 automatically are off the boards. FSN South then has to work the Predators in with the Grizzlies also -- and with other conflicts. Since ratings help or hinder sales, I think it was wise not to go up against the Titans on Monday Night Football last night.

That's all well and good, but it points to another item in a laundry-list of factors that could fall under "detriments to 'growing the game' in a non-traditional market." I've lived several places in different areas of the country, and to my immediate recollection, there is no market I've encountered that features fewer games on a "flagship" station.

Your ratings argument, again, is cogent in this case--but was FSN convinced that the "Wrangler Pro Tour" rodeo was a more suitable head-to-head match with the ever-present juggernaut of MNF? A quick glance at their programming guide would indicate that it was.

As long as the contractual agreement is 55 games, we'll continue to have these issues\debates. There'd be far less outcry if it were a matter of missing 8 games sprinkled here and there throughout the season...but we're talking about a third of the season that we can't see.

At least the Blackhawks fans could see road games.

FSN is contractually obligated to get in some rodeos in 2007, so they can have the footage to air Best Damn's 50 Greatest Chaps special against the 2008 Super Bowl.
