says jeff oneil is gonna be traded in the next 48 hrs. says the leafs would start the talks with a guy like antropov and something else.

just so another perspective, i called the fan 590 radio show and talked to mike hogan about jeff and the habs possibly trading for him.
He is a big canes fan from the whaler days and he said the trade rumors stem from the paul maurice days (oneil and maurice were not getting along), since maurice was fired jeff has played better and likely is off the trading block.

Antropov and one of the Leafs young defenceman (Carlo, Kondriatev, Harrison) would be my guess if he is dealt to the Leafs.

Bill Watters is a moron. We're talking here about a guy who considers Robert Reichel the most underrated player in hockey.

His 'evaluation of talent' may be off, but if he's citing his sources, then you have to put some stalk into it. I mean, he was an Asst. GM, so he'd have some connections.

He stated the same thing on Hockeycentral today. He said that the big money teams were probably going to be in the hunt for him.

i'll be glad when he's dealt so we don't have to have anymore O'Neill discussions on the Vancouver board.

He is the most underrated player - we all think he is hopeless well in reality he is just useless.

Right.. so he's an asst Gm in one of the highest profile hockey cities in North America.. parlays that into two jobs on the radio and TV making a couple hundred thousand a year talking about hockey. Yeah.. quite the dummy.

P.S. Reichel is under-rated and he certainly isn't "useless". You should try objectivity once in a while.. though it seems like that is under rated here..

There's nothing underrated about Reichel. He just sucks. His contract makes him overrated if anything.

I'm starting to question some of these predictions from the Sportsnet crew.. first Kypreos with his "Comrie will be gone within the next week" and now Watters is making this claim about O'Neill.. it's almost as if they have a section in their contract that forces them to make one bold claim/season! :)

Reichel is abit underrated. He's not that bad...

as for Reichel, yes he is overpaid, but he is good

Would be nice to see Nashville take a run for him, but since we are sitting pretty in 6th (well not pretty, but 5-0-2 in last 7) I don't see us mixing with team chemistry and pulling off a deal at this time.

just an opinion, but you guys will be better in the long run keeping your prospects and picks and staying away from the quick fixes. Look at the rewards Ottawa is getting now?

Only player we would deal is Arkhipov, and good riddance to him!
