Leipold- "We're willing to add to make this team better"

gee, doesn't sound like someone considering selling the team.

Any ideas?

Depending on the position of the Rags and the Stars at the deadline, I think Jason Arnott or Petr Nedved might be a good addition. I would think we'd want a center.

Good article.

Well, we all knew that this was a possibility. The huge benefit of building from within is that you set yourself of for having a very competitive team for a long time, while sacrificing the short term. Ottawa is reaping that success, and hopefully we will too. If something comes to pass like the article mentions, I just hope we don't go overboard, and lose the identity that we built here in Nashville. I'm confident that we won't, but I had to make my monthly cautionary post :D.

We definitely need somone who can win faceoffs. One of the reasons we have a hard time on the PP and scoring goals is our inability to control the puck off the faceoff.

an interesting idea was suggested over on the trade board.

Yannic Perreault?

One of the BEST faceoff guys in the league, and when given a chance can score, as well. Best of all, could be had for a mid-round pick. Easily an upgrade on Arkhipov.

I'll take him!!

On the Calgary board, I think they were talking about getting Perrault for their team!

At this point I think I am about ready to let Arkhipov go. I’m always one to give the guy another shot, just for the benefit of the doubt and think that if he knows he could be gone that he would play better. However he doesn‘t seem to be responding to anything at all for the last 2 seasons and, after watching him stand in the crease as Lombardi put the puck in the net, untouched tonight, I think I’m ready to let him go.

He just seems to be playing with no fire. He floats around a lot. He hangs his head if he doesn’t get a goal, which is a lot lately. And he doesn’t hit people out there. He’s 6’3, 214, bigger than a lot of guys. Someone should tell him that, make him use his size for his advantage.

I agree. After watching him watch the Lombardi goal in, that was my first thought. Enough.
He has upside, maybe another coach and environment could bring it out. He should be moved.
