GDT: Minnesota Wild @ the Columbus Blue Jackets, 7:00pm FSN OHIO
For the good of the CBJ, Optimus Moo has been demoted and I'm taking my undefeated GDT record and making the thread for the game.
:wild 29-19-3, 61 points, 1st in the Northwest vs.
:cbj 25-22-6, 56 points, 3rd in the Central

Modin has a hamstring tear, suffered in the second period Tuesday vs. Phoenix. He's out a week to 10 days, meaning he'll miss at least the next five games, probably more than that. Tough season for the Big Swede.
Fedorov skated by himself this morning and developed a headache. So, he'll take a couple of days off and try to gear back up again. He's out for Saturday, for sure, and probably Tuesday vs. Washington, too.
1/31/2008 Derek Boogaard Back IR
1/31/2008 Mark Parrish Bruised Foot Day to Day
Tommy's keys to the game:
1. Stop Gaborik, he's deadly with the puck and is faster than our skaters.
2. We desperately need some secondary scoring after Rick & Nik.
3. I think we need to win the special teams battle, they're top 10 in both PP and PK.
4. Don't let them get the lead, Backstrom is now 26-0-0 in his career when the Wild lead after 40 minutes.
Other key games on Saturday
Coyotes vs Predators
Avalanche at St. Louis
missing this one. I'm up in Boston to see Detroit beat the bruins :D
we serving groundhog?
3 - 2 Jackets!!
and the Chili chant goes crazy from the 18K in attendance... Brassard pots his 1st of the season, Nash and Z.. Mary Ann almost gets the wild hatty.
As Sam Cooke sang "A change is gonna come". The last two games are behind us.
Give the home crowd something to cheer about, boys.
(Yes I know it's a stretch to connect the two, but I've been listening to the man nonstop lately for whatever reason.)
This................more than ever before...................is a critical game..................................:amazed:
This game is an absolute must-win. At home A 3-game losing streak will really knock the wind out of us. We've gotta show that we have what it takes to be a serious contender. And from the rumors tonight's game will be the highest attendance all year at Nationwide. Give the crowd a win, boys.
38 points in 29 games, making the math easy we need to go 19-10, or a little worse than 2 wins for 1 loss. It's time to start grouping games in 3s. Beat the Wild and Coyotes (Thursday) with a potential loss to the Caps on Tuesday, and we'll be on track. Follow that up with a (potential) loss to San Jose and victories against the Kings and Blackhawks, and we'll still be on track.
We need Nash to step up and start playing like he's capable of playing. I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of Nash performing like an All-Star some games and then not making any impact at all in the other games. Zherdev has been picking up some of the slack, but "your best players have to be your best players" and that includes Nash and Vybs and Peca and Foote.
2-1 in the next 3 games boys, that's all I ask.
Also, from what I hear (can't recall where) Tarnstrom can't play yet with the Jackets because of an immigration issue - something about being a Swedish citizen for the US passport, or something. I can't recall where I saw it, sorry.
No Tarnstrom for a few games, just like Hejda at the start of preseason camp he'll still need his immigration papers to be cleared before he can play that's per Portzline
I hope the shakeup here means good karma, because I will be at the game and I want to see a win. We HAVE to end this skid.
Is there any recourse than a win? Nope. Crunch time for our veterans......
First three game losing streak of the season. Will be sellers soon
HFBoarders are running out of patience...and by patience...I mean Prozac... CBJ depression hits a new low...The Boards crash with posts of CBJ Suckitude...The Groundhog Didn't see his shadow....DID YOU HEAR ME? THE DAMN GROUNDHOG DIDN"T SEE HIS SHADOW!!! WE'RE 0 - 5 WHEN THAT HAPPENS....(Probably true)
Getting pumped...I'm going to my first game since Dec.29th.
CBJ 5 Wild 3
(Peca 2, Russell, Zherdev, Nash)
I'm attending this one tonight. Hope you're wrong, Matt, but I know this team is perfectly capable of a 3-game skid, and that's what makes me nervous. I see this as a two goal win for either team, with the final goal being an empty-netter.
EDIT: Forgot to comment on the fantastic GDT, Timeless. Great job! :thumbu:
The good news is that Wes Walz and his PRESTIDIGITORY BREEZERS won't score on us tonight.
Ahhhhh, hope springs eternal.
Hopefully this game is a sellout. We're long overdue for one, and I think this franchise needs it.
That being said, Jackets 4-0. The large crowd propels them to a dominating effort.
If we want to stop the couple Demitra-Gáborík, a line who will play against them has to play like Czech representation against Slovakia.
Our probable roster:
Nash - Peca - Žerdev
Chimera - Novotný - Výborný
Fritsche - Brassard - Brulé
Murray - Malhotra - Boll
I am inquisitive on these lines.
This game might be one of the most important games we've seen as Blue Jackets fans. Bring it, boys!!! :box:
just win baby
Nash and Z come up big
2-1 shootout win...I hope
The only line that concerns me is Brassards. That line seems defensively challenged and obviously very young. It has skill, energy and some power so who knows. I'd love to see it succeed and get Brule and Fritsche that magic 12-14 min per game.
LETS GO JACKETS.... 3-2 good guys!
No Norrena after Leclaire's lack-luster play in Nashville. That makes me :(.
I'm making the trip down from Cleveland for this one!
Today is supposed to be the "Hats for Heroes" game. What special events will be going on?
