why the hf ranger board > rangers website board

because there are like 50 threads about how we have to trade henrik lundqvist now:shakehead

and about how currently holding a playoff spot means we have no shot

yada 02-07-2008 08:48 PM

i cant get on that place right now from my blackberry but that site has become hilarious

i prefer talking nhl anyways instead of the usual we suck, were gonna win the cup and the whole bipolar attitude that site has.

The same goes for HFBoards Canucks board over the Canucks.com forums (aka CDC).

honestly, i use to be on that board a lot, then i realized a lot of the people there have no idea about hockey....those posts show it

SingnBluesOnBroadway 02-08-2008 10:32 AM

Better looking mods here, as well.

Lion Hound 02-08-2008 10:37 AM

I posted over on the Rangers board since 2000. Had some real good discussions there, and there are some very knowledgeable posters there. But...the board itself is just not moderated the right way. Like you mentioned, dozens of the same topics. Over and over. Instead of someone putting thier 2 cents in, they start a new thread. It's a free-for-all there. This site is way, WAY better. Alot fo the best posters from that site have already made thier way over here. And untill that board gets moderated, it will continue to dissapoint.

Nich 02-08-2008 11:29 AM

and webby bans like no other on that site

If you do say so yourself ;)

We actually have hockey IQ's and to those people who mess up on these forums, they get grilled and basted like no other. You must post up correct stuff or else. We say what we have on our minds, that's the true NY Sports fan mentality.

Two HUGE reasons i like this board more...

1) people here are more knowledgeable.

2) no bigotry toward European players.

No Don Cherryism, eh? (I'll give him props though, he complimented Kovy last night)...

We have the kind of crew that would all go out for a beer and share some stories...

I also post at the other site, and this is by far much better.

clmetsfan 02-11-2008 11:15 AM

I think it's a pretty safe general rule that independent websites will always be a better place to discuss sports than the "official" or mainstream sites (team sites, ESPN).

I've taken a peek at the mets.com board as well. Unbelievable. You get more intelligent comments on YouTube.

Tell me about it. I did one of those veepers things with Jagr's head saying he's going to be better than ever, that he's regrowing the mullet, and that he's gonna lead the Rangers to the Cup and this guy flips out on me because it was uncalled for or something. So I tell him to go buy a sense of humor and I get banned.

Nich 02-11-2008 12:33 PM

well at least we can bad mouth that SOB webby here....what you gonna do now you communist!!!!

ruckus* 02-11-2008 03:17 PM

This board is virtually the same thing. The only reason there's not 50 threads about something is because anytime anyone makes a second thread about something there's the core group of people who freak out because there's already another thread about it. I'd say 75% of people who post on this board think the Rangers have no shot and want to get rid of everyone. This website has a much better layout in my opinion though.

strongbad3689 02-11-2008 03:27 PM

umm its better because i got banned from the other bb for no reason

Ditto. There's a user that goes by ghost4 over at the NYRBB that spams his anti-euro nonsense like none other. He wouldn't last a second over here :yo:

IrishJimbo 02-11-2008 04:23 PM

FUNNY POST. I posted at the Ranger board for a couple of years now and this afternoon finally accepted that it has really deteriorated over the past few months. I used to go on and look at the thread page and see interesting topics, while now it's the same stuff everday phrased in a million different ways. I also think it has gotten really negative with some serious "non thoughtful" bashing going on everytime we loose.

Consider me converted

If I were one of them, I might think that too :sarcasm:

JLHockeyKnight 02-11-2008 05:55 PM

I think its better than the Rangers website board because fans of other teams can come on and tell you all how much you're all overreacting when some of you think (or act as if) the Rangers have zero chance of making the playoffs this year.
