The official my first goal was scored on Marty Brodeur!

Well add Ryan Carter to an ever growing list......so far from what I can remember I have Keith Aucoin, Thomas Flieschmann (sp?), Ryan Carter, Brian Boyle, and Evgeni Malkin on my list, and all of these were just in the past year, and I'm positive I'm missing more, like Brandon Dubinsky, Marc Staal just to name a few.

You almost would think he's giving these kids something to talk about on purpose.

"I scored my first goal on Martin Brodeur."

Jaysfanatic* 02-09-2008 09:27 AM

I've got another one, Darren Haydar scored in the 6-5 game against Marty for his first career goal, Brett Sterling had his first NHL point in the same game.

Lawrence Nycholat for the Caps scored his first against Brodeur, up until December 30th 2006 32 NHLers had scored their first NHL goal against Marty, 6 players had never scored on anyone but Brodeur, Libor Zabransky, Chad Wiseman, Brad Moran, Jozef Balej, Evgeny Korolev and Jeff Tambellini

Then it must be wrong! lol

I pretty sure the Thrashers have a new player scoring their first goal or getting their first point on Marty every game.

Well ESPN got their facts from the Elias Sports Bureau and they're never wrong.

Foy 02-09-2008 05:17 PM

That's one of those things that happens when you are in the league for a long time. Things like this start piling up against you.

Ronnie Bass 02-09-2008 05:42 PM

Pretty sure Crosby got his first point against Marty.

Henrique Iglesias 02-09-2008 05:46 PM

at least his name will be known even more haha

Dialamo 02-09-2008 05:58 PM

Don't forget Nigel Dawes.

Hypernova 02-09-2008 07:49 PM

Marc Staal and Keith Aucoin too.

Wasn't he supposed to be the man when the Rangers traded Kovelev for him? How'd that trade work out?

No, Dawes scored one goal last year so that wasn't his first

About as well as Kovalev was working for them.

Jaysfanatic* 03-21-2008 11:51 PM

Update: Add Kyle Okposo to this list.

Lets add every player who scores his first on Brodeur in here.

Zajacs Bowl Cut 03-22-2008 12:08 AM

You're right, LaRose did indeed score his first against Marty and I have Keith Aucoin up there too. Darren Haydar is another. At the time that ESPN compiled their list, 32 guys had scored their first against Marty, from what we can remember we've got

LaRose
Aucoin
Malkin
Dubinsky
Staal
Haydar
Fleischmann
Ryan Carter
Brian Boyle
Kyle Okposo

Just from between December 2006 and March 2008, the list from what I can recall is 42 players long.

CFD 03-22-2008 12:12 AM

So did Jeff Tambellini.

Darius Dangleaitis 03-22-2008 01:08 AM

Mine was.

None Shall Pass 03-22-2008 02:15 AM

I scored my first on him too.

Landon Wilson scored his first NHL goal against Marty in the 1995-1996 season. He ended up being a huge bust. Go figure.

Jaysfanatic* 06-19-2008 10:22 AM

BUMP!

With the Doughty thread, I was wondering, can we sticky this for the upcoming season? The rookie crop is looking to have a few players play from this years draft alone, could be an interesting rookie year. Lets see how many score on Brodeur.

Foy 06-19-2008 11:13 AM

Lawrence Nycholat is missing

Jaysfanatic* 10-16-2008 05:35 PM

BUMP for 2008.
