I was hoping he'd get to stay up a bit longer but it's hard to find a place for a guy like him right now.

Dutchy 02-03-2004 03:03 PM

I guess he cleared waivers too...

Rahan 02-03-2004 03:19 PM

He didn't play 10 games so he didn't need to be put on waivers if what I think is correct.
He could also have been sent down on a conditionning stint..

Bum luck for Gratton--seems like he's destined never to play in the NHL. It's nice having him around, at any rate. He makes our AHL team stronger, and that's good for the rookies, as they get to play on a winning team and develop confidence. Hope he picks up where he left off in Hamilton.

Hossa-Gratton-Balej
Higgins-Plekanec-Perezhogin

That would be nice...enough with Olvestad and Somervuori Jarvis.

Agreed. Teach TB's management a lesson: never assign your top prospects to a team who's battling with you for playoff spots (now and in the future). :p

I agree Marc. The last game I was at Olvestad was the worst Bulldog, and did nothing good but on the PK. He is fast and all, and effective on the PK, but brings little to no offense. Somervuori I don't like cause I can never spell his name right :p (just kidding) I think he's shown some good flashes, but is knocked off the puck easily. Still I don't mind him on the 2nd line here and there, but if Higgins can play tomorrow then Somv to the 3rd line and Olvestad to the 4th!

Hossa Gratton Balej
Higgins Plekanec Perezhogin
Milroy Dwyer Ferland
Olvestad Somervuori

If Higgins can't go, put Milroy in Higgins spot.

Does this mean he will be in the AHL All-Star game?

I assume he will be there to play against Balej and Plekanec on Monday night.

obcd1 02-03-2004 09:59 PM

ok now I remember...Hedin will replace Komisarek, I knew one of the Habs prospects was replaced but I wasn't sure if it was Gratton

With Balej and Gratton added to the team, Hamilton will be much stronger for two big games this week, against the #2 and #3 teams in their division. It is amazing how well they have been playing with such a depleted lineup.
