OT - Hockey book
I recently order of Amazon the book Futures Greats and Heartbreaks by Gare Joyce and I'm really enjoying it (learn more about the book in this thread in the prospect forum : http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=458751)

So, I was wondering if any you had any suggestions concerning hockey books, weither they're about prospects, the hockey business, players or any hockey related subjects ?

"Future Greats and Heartbreaks" is awesome. I got it in early December and finished it in two nights- couldn't put it down.

Other good hockey books: "The Game" by Ken Dryden, "My Life In Hockey" by Jean Beliveau, and "King of Russia" (I think that's the title) by Dave King. The last one is fairly new compared to the others; it's about Canadian coach Dave King and the year he coached Metallurg Magnitogorsk (one of his players: 19-year-old Evgeni Malkin) in the RSL. Another one I managed to read in two nights because I couldn't stop.

The Game has to be #1, I always liked Robinson for the Defence if that's the correct title, Larry Robinson's book.

"Hockey For Dummies" i liked a lot. Couldnt put it down and i cried at the end. A nail biter with a surprise ending that will grip your heart. But i wont ruin it for you and tell you the ending.

Poor little Timmy and his dog... :shakehead

Gare Joyce wrote a great piece for ESPN.com a couple weeks ago, regarding the death of Windsor Spitfires captain Mickey Renaud. It was a really touching piece.

As for books, I read a book a few years back called They Don't Play Hockey In Heaven, which is one of the most inspiring books I've ever read.

And if anyone has youngsters learning their alphabet, A to Zamboni is a must
