Bruins poll - Markov/Komi praise

We played a crappy game last night, but at least we can all still laugh at the Bruins!

Courtesy of Spector's.

BOSTON GLOBE: Fluto Shinzawa recently reported Montreal Canadiens defensemen Mike Komisarek and Andrei Markov were considered the toughest shut-down duo in an informal poll of Bruins forwards.

Spector also predicted that Komisarek could be signed to a long-term deal at "twice" his current rate. That would be $3.4M, and frankly a bargain.

Well hopefully that duo steps up tomorrow because they've been pretty bad as of late (especially Komisarek).

Tuggy 03-19-2008 09:27 AM

If we could sign Komi to a long term deal at 3.4 I'd be VERY happy.

They have not played as well as before, but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are playing bad. Komi had a solid game last night except his penality where he got caught flat footed. Markov had a solid game.

Somehow, I don't think the B's board will be very appreciative of this opinion as those 2 d men's list of fans over there is about as long as my list of favorite Bulgarian chant albums.

Iwishihadacup 03-19-2008 09:37 AM

Bruins are trying to jinx us

/thread

LilWinger11 03-19-2008 09:38 AM

But... but... Komi's such a pansy! He won't fight Lucic or Reich or Thornton! He hides behind the ref! Chara's so much better!

Just in case anyone missed it, :sarcasm:

Given our success this year against the B's, this is rather logical, but always nice to hear.

What was Komisarek doing at the blueline on the third Blues goal?
Come on he was bad last night but thats okay we both know he will respond well.

Sounds like you're really selling short the impact of the Bulgarian music scene on Dylan's earlier works, namely The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.

Hopefully this motivates Komisarek to play like he did on January 10th in Boston. Boy was he a complete animal that night.

Haven't seen that Komi too much recently.

Guy Caballero 03-19-2008 11:34 AM

I'd give him 15 years at 3.4

LeMAD 03-19-2008 11:34 AM

Hopefully, the few players like Komi who aren't playing their games right now are simply keeping their energy for the playoffs...

No wonder they'll say Komi-Markov.
We're first in our division and Boston lost 8 in a row vs us.
Man we better win Thursday AND Saturday. If we don't, just like that, Boston will be 3pts behind us with one game in hand.
The next 2games are gonna have the intensity of classic rivalries!..looking foward to it!

The best after Zdeno Chara of course, who will win the Norris trophy this year and for many many years to come for sure...

Zdeno Chara without partner > Komi and Markov. He's just such a smart defenseman, it boggles the mind!
