Can Kovalev reach 40?

7 more goals, 7 more games. Is it possible he has an hot streak at the end of the season? If he gets a hat trick next game, only 4 will be left for 6 games. Do you think it is possible for him to accomplish such a feat?

Analyzer* 03-21-2008 08:55 PM

It is possible, and it's hard to say at the same time.

We'll basically have to wait and see how he does. I hope he can do it.

CareyPrice x 31 03-21-2008 08:55 PM

its very possible

Form and Substance 03-21-2008 08:56 PM

He's due for a goal streak now, and now's the time! I say he can!

Stradale 03-21-2008 09:04 PM

I think he could reach that tomorrow against the Ruins.

Captain Saku 03-21-2008 09:05 PM

it's possible but unlikely

Brownies 03-21-2008 09:10 PM

Possible, but "no" is your answer.

NHLcrazy 03-21-2008 09:12 PM

mmm nah...he'll finish with 35-36 goals and maybe 81-82 pts IMO

Remember if we clinched 1st or 2nd with 1 or 2 game left Kovy and some other might be given a game or 2 off before the PO...

Beakermania* 03-21-2008 09:21 PM

I hope he gets to 35

40 would gravy.

Joey 03-21-2008 09:26 PM

It's possible for Ovy to reach 70 but he won't

It's possible for Kovy to reach 40 but he won't

Ovy --> 63
Kovy --> 36

EDIT: didn't see Alex got #59 and #60 tonight -- maybe he will get 70 :amazed:

Dwight 03-21-2008 09:29 PM

I say he definitely gets 35...probably not 40

I'll guess 37

Ozymandias 03-21-2008 09:36 PM

A couple of months ago, on a similar thread, I made a prediction that Kovy would end the season with 35 goals and 50 assists for 85 points. He only needs 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in the last 7 remaining games for it to happen.

Teufelsdreck 03-21-2008 09:37 PM

I'd like someone on the Habs besides Kovalev to get very hot. If Kovalev gets to 35 or 36, that would be fine, but how about Plekanec reaching 30 or Koivu or Ryder or Latendresse reaching 20?

Ice Poutine 03-21-2008 09:39 PM

If he stays healthy and doesnt die prematurely, he'll reach 40 years old.

habs1988 03-21-2008 09:46 PM

It depends on what Kovy wants.

I'm sure that if he wants to get 40 goals, he'll do it. He's the kind of player that can elevate his play and dominate completely the other team.

Canuck71 03-21-2008 09:50 PM

Im sure he could go out there and get 7 in 7. Give him another game against Boston:naughty:

Adam91 03-21-2008 09:53 PM

I just want him to get a hat trick, we want the moonwalk!!

Andrighetto Fabolous 03-21-2008 09:58 PM

I'd rather him save the hot streak for the playoffs :D

Tim Thomas is living the nightmare in his sleep. Nightmare on Kovalev streak.

If Montreal has a 6-8 goal outburst tomorrow which isn't out of the ordinary this year against the Bruins then I expect Kovalev could pot another 2 or 3 goals and an assist or two to further pad his stats. This would make it more likely for him to hit 40 goals. I really get the feeling Montreal will explode for an abundance of goals tomorrow just because Boston is just mentally beaten by the Habs after they played their best game against us this season only to lose again. We'll see what Alex Auld has to offer them. Convincing victory tomorrow with at least 6 Habs goals scored.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

If someone came up with a photoshop of Kovalev looking like Freddy Kreuger cutting up Thomas or something like that I would probably die of laughter

We may have to make avatars for the bruins if we win tomorrow
