View from the enemy, part II

This will make you want to sweep them even more tonight...I'd post this in the GDT if it was up but it isn't...

Quote:

Still, B’s players took confidence - which they’ll carry over tonight - from the loss.

“We competed well,” said center Glen Metropolit. “I thought we were the better team for the most part in that game.”

The B’s truly seem to believe the Canadiens are not the better team, but that their own mistakes and missed opportunities have led to the seven Montreal wins.

“As much as the record would disagree with this, I don’t think we’ve ever really doubted that we can beat these guys,” said defenseman Andrew Ference. “I don’t think there’s any sense of having to prove something to ourselves.

“That’s why guys are pretty (ticked) off at ourselves, because we failed to come through so many times against them. There’s no excuse. It’s one thing if a team is far superior, absolutely dominating you. But a lot of their goals, we’ve given them. A lot of the times we’ve lost was because of mistakes or just not burying our chances.”

But...but...they ARE the best team! In their minds i mean...:shakehead

Iwishihadacup 03-22-2008 09:47 AM

they are just like their fans... always claiming they are better even when its 7-0 in the serie

WeThreeKings 03-22-2008 09:48 AM

They are 7-0 in Moral Victories, greedy Bruins.

LilWinger11 03-22-2008 09:48 AM

Maybe they thought the reporter was asking about their moral record?

Spectaculard 03-22-2008 09:53 AM

:biglaugh:

I guess truth hurts. They don't want to admit we've owned them in every single way possible.

It's funny how bad they are against us. Price was clearly not at his best last game, he was bobbling many shots. But yet, they still didn't menace him.

This is a pic from the OP's linked article.

You wanna tell what the Hell the Ref is doing?? :amazed:

I love it. This is why they can't beat us, because they can't realize they have to fundamentally change how they approach the game.

It's always about how they beat themselves, and they're due. They've been spouting the same ******** since 2002. It's like they learned nothing from the past 6 years. Different players, same attitude.

I was worried about the Habs tonight, just because I figured the Boston players would finally smarten up. But this gives me newfound confidence.

Souffle 03-22-2008 10:02 AM

It makes sense to me. It's how I feel, whatever that's worth, about the Sens and Habs this year. I mean, if we're going to say that our 7-0 record is proof positive of our undisputable superiority, then we might as well right now proclaim the same about our inferiority with respect to the Sens. I don't think that's the case. Like Boston against Montreal, the Habs have found all kinds of ways to lose against Ottawa, making them look better than they really are relative to the Habs.

Habs8517 03-22-2008 10:02 AM

lol
they are pathetic like their fans :biglaugh:
team of goons :shakehead

Little Nilan 03-22-2008 10:02 AM

Wow, they honestly think they were the better team? The Habs could've scored 4-5 goals in the third period, they've blew them out in every home game. It's like reading the Bruins board :biglaugh:. Oh well, another Bruins game another spanking tonight.

NHLcrazy 03-22-2008 10:08 AM

No domination?!?

6-1
7-4
5-2
8-2

(Two 4-2 wins and one 2-1)

What do we have to do? win 10-0?

Yeah we freakin' sucked badly in that 2-1 win...:shakehead

417 03-22-2008 10:11 AM

what do you expect them to say?

They're looking for ways to motivate themselves...nothing really earth shattering there IMO.

Maybe a slight case of denial, but that's the way they should think

No, we have to score when the Bruins didn't make a mistake :sarcasm:

Win the fights. Moral victory + real victory = domination.

NHLcrazy 03-22-2008 10:16 AM

They are delusional...As habs fans we were honest to ourselves to admit that NJ has DOMINATED us from 95 to last year...it's just a fact no need to fool yourself!

Won't even be enough. As Habs fan we are cursed. No matter how good a player or the team plays, if he's a Hab, no recognition will come out of it. Ever. On the main board someone started a thread about Kovy's two magnificient goals: well, according to (almost) everybody else, there were a few reasons why he scored and talent wasn't one of them. ITA Thomas was weak, but that doesn't take away the moves, dekes and the 3 B's pylons.

GO HABS GO!!!

Avim86 03-22-2008 10:29 AM

Did they actually see Kovalev dismantle their whole team last game... I'd assume Chara/Thomas would have some nightmares after last game. How cocky can they get when we really have their number this year (and last).

I think every Habs fan deep down knows Ottawa is still a better team than we are. We have taken advantage of the Emery turmoil, the Paddock failure and the Heatley/Alfie injuries to jump over them in the standings. If Ottawa had started the year with Murray behind the bench and been a bit healthier, there is no talk of winning the division right now IMO.

Agreed.....maybe in a year or two when our young players develop more...but in my opinion Ottawa can still crank it up a notch to a different level that we can't match right now.

I think having 3 of the best offensive players in the league helps a bit.
