Talking to the "banned" M=G the last little while...and we had an idea...

Mathias Tjärnqvist for Peter Schastlivy.

Why?

The Stars need skill, Sens need grit. Dallas has enough Ott's, Sens have enough Havlat's...

Somehow this just would make sense.

Interesting, I'd consider this if I were either one.

Tjarnqvist profile:

Tjärnqvist is a Holmstrom clone, only bigger and playing left wing instead of right wing. He's very feisty, solid both ways and has a bit of Ott's pesky abilities. Could become a 20/20 player.. Won't back down from anyone and is said to have extreme good fighting skills.

Interesting quote from his former coach in Sweden

Plays left wing, standing at 6'1 - 190. Currently behind Morrow, Ott, Miettinen on the Stars LW depth chart, and likely behind Polak and Jokinen in the future as well.

Schastlivy might be prone, but his skillset can't be overlooked. He has the potential to become a decent sniper, something the Stars left flanks are currently unfamiliar with (save Jokinen/Polak, but they aren't ready for another 2/3 seasons at least).

I'd rather keep my AHL fodder than acquire theirs. No thanks.

What happened to M=G?

Mattias won't be more than a checker. Doubt Ottawa would do this deal. But frankly I think the league should do more deals like this if it is an area of need

We said some not so nice things...we'll just leave it at that...he'll be back soon enough.
