Sam Kelly skated with the Wild?

Hey all,
I recently heard a tale about Sam Kelly, a Hill-Murray High forward, skating with the Wild and being the fastest player on the ice. Can anyone confirm this? I have no idea why he would have done so, but if he did that would be quite a feat. No need to reply if you don't believe this, only if you have some good info for me. Thanks.

Yes, it was at the Wild Skills Competition, but I think he clocked in second after Zyuzin. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

#16 had it right, Sam Kelly wasn't faster than Zyuzin. But he almost was:

Andrei Zyuzin won the fastest skater competition, busting around the rink in 13.792 seconds. High school participant Sam Kelly of Hill-Murray rounded the course in 13.814 seconds, quicker than the five other Wild entrants: Marc Chouinard, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Antti Laaksonen, Alexandre Daigle and Willie Mitchell. "He scared me," Zyuzin said. "I said to myself, 'I have to work my butt off now.' "

Kelly came within 0.157 seconds of equaling the Wild record.

"I saw him skating before the event and he had great strides," said Wes Walz, the record holder with a time of 13.657 seconds, done last year. Walz opted out of the fastest skater program because of a stiff back.
Sam was one of four (I think) MN high school students invited to participate.

He's a senior at Hill Murray high school... he's 17, 18 or so. I read a little while ago that people expect him to go to the USHL for a year, then play college hockey. No idea if that's good info or not.

Oh.. it was just at the Wild's skills competition. They invite high school players, just for kicks. It's a nice thing to do for the kids. There's no affiliation between Kelly an the Wild, as far as I know.
