Is this a bad time to buy a jersey?

I was thinking about getting another Habs jersey to commemorate us winning the conference, but on second thought I wonder if there's going to be something cool happening to our jersey next year for the 100th anniversary so I should save my money until then. Has anyone heard anything about this?... like, are we going to bring back a different vintage one (maybe with that awesome World logo, esp. if we win the cup) or do anything else cool with the jersey next year?

WeThreeKings 04-08-2008 11:34 AM

I'll get the jersey of the player who scores in 4OT in game seven to win us the cup.

I heard somewhere that the white vintage one will come back and be our 3rd jersey as of next year

I'd get Price's jersey instead for getting us into 4OT.

Is it ever a bad time to buy a Habs jersey?

When Martin Rucinski leads your team with 49 points it might be a bad time to buy a Habs jersey :sarcasm:

No.

Just bought my first jersey(with a players name on it). Bought a Kovalev jersey to celebrate the Eastern Champs and not to mention to show my love for him bringing us there!

I'll likely get another jersey if we win the cup, probably a Price one.

Get a vintage Carbonneau and be done with it.

I heard that half + of the teams are doing an alternate but not Montreal. But there are rumours that they will be doing something for the centennial. it maybe just a patch or a jersey. But this years jersey is a lock for 2 more seasons.
I'm getting one. If you wait to long they will change again anyway.
And patches can always be added after the fact.

Yeah but you can just take the "RUCINSKI" nameplate off and tell people it's a Josh Gorges.

my gf bought me my first jersey yesterday.

She spent 150$ on it and it doesnt even have a name...i also found out that it's like 40$ to get it done but it's a silk screen (yuck) and i want the stitch, but that's apparently 100$ more. ***. why the hell is that **** so expensive?

It sounds like she went to the wrong place... you should be able to get a name/number stitched on for that price if you look online (ebay in particular, but try shop.NHL.com and stuff too, esp. when they're having sales.)

I want to see them go back to the old jerseys. I don't like these new ones, I want to get a Price jersey but I am waiting incase they switch back. I heard that players are going to be given the option of switching back. Does anyone know if this is true?

Lucius 04-08-2008 01:16 PM

Yeah, if you want names/numbers, use NHL.com. They do a good job and sometimes have sales, like one day a few weeks ago all names/numbers/captains were free of charge.

I am personally a fan of getting random, but current jerseys. IE: I bought my current Streit jersey two years ago when he was the 7th D.

People would ask me if I was Swiss, now everyone has them! Pfft!

I almost wanted to buy a Greg Stewart jersey after the other night, but the new habs always change their numbers.

I'd laugh if it was Michael Ryder

The jersey in itself will stay, it's just the material they switched back.

I prefer the new Edge jersey, it grew on me. Just remove the rounded bottom and it's perfect, i love the tighter fit.

Looking at pictures from last year i realised that some players wore tents instead of jersey, that was ugly.

Tricolore#20 04-08-2008 01:51 PM

One that thing will definitely change is that the sweater will have the All-Star game patch on the chest.

unfortunatly me being an oversized guy, they dont make jerseys to fit me.

If they did I would own like 10 of them.
It really sucks they dont make any to fit the bigger guys!
