Higgins played in Bridgeport (AHL) the last two seasons and is currently playing in Europe.

Ryans problems started with concussions then led to bad decisions from his agent, to more concussions to finally a bad ankle injury that will never heal right. The ankle I think is the big one. Terry Ryan is now playing for the Corner Brook Royals in the Western Newfoundland Sr. Hockey league. From what I have heard is is playing really well, but because of the ankle he walks with a limp.

He was playing in the ball hockey championship here in Montreal during the summer. Don't know if you guys remember that tournament, it was advertised on team990. Anyway, a good friend of mine was on George Laraques team. Actually, during the Montrea-Edmonton game here, he got the team a lodge for the game. Ok, in terms of Terry Ryan, my friend played against him. He said he was **** and he is chunky now apparently. That is the latest update I have.

I agree. Why tempt fate? This thread should be locked and eradicated from HF's database.

Yes names like these should remind all you habs fans that all your prospects aren't going to turn into stars, some might not even make it. I love reading this board though, you guys do know your hockey but some of you seriously over rate your prospects.

Yes, some fans here do over-rate the team's prospects. That is the case with every team it's just more noticeable here because there are so many fans who post. With HF rating the Habs prospects as number one right now it's not hard to get excited about the recent crop of young players in the system.

Just a note about Ryan and Higgins.

Prior to the 1996 draft Ryan was rated #10 overall by the Hockey News and #19 by Central Scouting Bureau. Higgins was rated #8 by THN and #6 by CSB. They turned out to be poor picks but it's not like the Habs were the only peopel with high opinions of them.
