Good luck to Jeff in his future endeavors. Class act by stepping aside in this situation. :handclap:

Wow...nice act by him...surprising...

I guess the Habs won when they trade him to Boston after all.

I'm a bit sad, I liked the guy.

He'll be missed, I'm sure.

Wow, I am very surprised to see that.

When I read the topic, I thought it was a joke.

balddog66 02-09-2004 08:03 PM

anyone else think he was pressured into this perhaps??? Especially after his admission he isn't a #1 goalie?

Kevin Forbes 02-09-2004 08:04 PM

yeah the first thing that popped into my mind was that he was pushed out

NJ_Devil_Boy 02-09-2004 08:07 PM

Good luck to Hackett. He had a solid NHL career and was a good person off the ice. :handclap:

Missionhockey 02-09-2004 08:08 PM

Uh why did he retire again?

BB 02-09-2004 08:15 PM

Well i was shocked that he retired. I hope he wasn't pressured by Clarke to do this. Goodluck in the future Hackett.

Habs didn't trade him to Boston, San Jose did.

As for Hackett, well he's always been a class act. Hopefully he gets his health in order.

If the Habs decide to move Garon to strenghten themselves up front, i wouldn't be opposed to signing Hackett to backup Theodore next season, assuming he's healthy and willing to sign for backup money.

Habs moved him to Boston. It was a three way deal.

Actually, it was two deals, first Montreal traded him to San Jose, then they traded him to the Bruins. I don't think Montreal got anything from Boston...

Actually, now that I've checked, they definitely didn't.

Montreal Canadiens traded Jeff Hackett to the San Jose Sharks for Niklas Sundstrom and a 3rd round selection in 2004. Then, San Jose Sharks traded Jeff Hackett and Jeff Jillson to the Boston Bruins for Kyle McLaren and a 4th round selection in 2004.

its bascially dizzy spells. It is a condition weakening your central nervous system and equilibrium. Adam Deadmarsh had vertigo and developed PCS, and I beleive he is not allowed to drive, and basic tasks are can be challenge.

Agreed. Sad to see any guy retire, especially on a down-note. Good luck Jeff.

Sad thing is Hackett could never hold a number one spot in the NHL.

Dropkick Alex 02-10-2004 07:45 AM
