inline skate bearings
Im looking into getting some inline skates and I want the best bearing I can get....I read abec 9 is supposed to be the best grade but do any of you guys have any experience with them and what brand of bearings do you recommend?

Honestly, it depends on the company. BSB is the standard, and you can't go wrong with ABEC-7's or 9's from them. Oust is a good brand as well.

BSB "Swiss" bearings are pretty top of the line, probably the best you can do.

I always preferred swiss bearings

Although this is seldom the case for a lot of products, I'd say brand quality is more important than the horribly unreliable ABEC rating system when it comes to skate bearings.

+1 endorsement for swiss bearings. They take a little longer to "break-in" but once they do, they're as good as anything else out there and much easier to take care of maintenance-wise.

I switched out the stock bearings on my missions with the ninja ABEC 7's. I have replaced several sets of shafts but these bearings just keep on going. I think its important to clean and lube the bearings, so that might by a reason for the almost 5 years that they have been in use. I use one of the large mouth 1 liter soda bottles filled with mineral spirits to clean them and a top grade synthetic skate lube. The large mouth bottle is just about the same as the bearing cleaning kits. Just fill with mineral spirits about half way, gently drop in the bearings, place on the cap snugly and roll the bottle to "wash" the bearings.
