Official Owned by 2006's Worst Team Thread

Takes them one year to rebuild... and we still have Boullion for what, 10 years now?

wedge 05-03-2008 08:52 PM

Bouillon is a good defenseman, I can't complain

of course you can turn your team around when you sign Briere, Timonen and Hartnell. Plus Biron.

Phil Parent 05-03-2008 08:54 PM

And **** over Atlanta for Coburn.

didjuicythat 05-03-2008 08:55 PM

At least they won't get passed the Pens or Rangers. I don't think they have the defensive corpse to be competititve against either of those teams.

2 Chainz 05-03-2008 08:55 PM

Bouillon was possibly our 2nd best defense these playoffs. Use your ****ing head.

Neither do we.

optimus2861 05-03-2008 08:57 PM

The worst part is, that punk Danny Briere gets the last laugh.

Not our fault he didn't have the balls to become the face of the greatest franchise in sports.

I'd even say he's #1 when it comes to making a tape to tape pass to the other team on the GWG. Learn hockey son.

JrHockeyFan 05-03-2008 08:59 PM

What a stupid thread

Guy Caballero 05-03-2008 09:00 PM

Terrible thread. You probably would have been booing instead of cheering during the final minute.

Al Bundy* 05-03-2008 09:01 PM

BigTimer,

you actually made a typo in your thread title.

The Flyers were NOT the worst team in 2006- that was St. Louis.

Technically, this should be titled "Official Owned By 2007's Worst Team Thread."

Komisarek, Hamrlik, Markov and Brisebois all didn't make any mistakes these playoffs either resulting in goals.

Give me a break. :shakehead

Lapierre was way out of position that goal, he should've been helping out down low instead he was up high skating around like a moron. I think you need to learn hockey if you are trying to blame Bouillon for that whole play.

GoneAway 05-03-2008 09:06 PM

You know big, very timely of you posting after the playoff run, particularly since you stayed away.

This type of attitude makes me sick

The Flyer's of 2007 added Hartnell, Upshall, Timonen, Biron, Coburn, and Lupul, Prospal, and Smith. Hardly the worst team of 2007.

Are you implying that I'm monday morning QB'ing because we lost in this round? Because if you want I could go on and on about how pathetic we were in the first round and how we didn't even deserve to win it against a farce of a team.

HamrlikTheStud* 05-03-2008 09:10 PM

It's going up very fast, but when it goes up too fast, it goes the other way just as fast...

Just wait till they lose Carter/Prospal/Smith this summer.

No...I dont care what you think. I know how we played, but the season is over...theres no point in threads like these.

We accomplished tenfold what was expected from us and we have a bright future ahead of us. The fact that you cant show any pride or respect for this team is what makes me sick

JrHockeyFan 05-03-2008 09:13 PM

Something drives me nuts when "fans" want to blame all the wrong people. Or worse blame the opponent for winning

Say what the heck you want to but Philly won. It was strange, but they won.

They move on and hopefully the team learns from this. They won 4 games for crying out loud. And hint hint is was not Carey Price's fault as easy as that would be to say by some.

I get so po'd by folks who have not watched hockey long enough to give an opinion worth posting

Brisebois is Brisebois and shouldn't be on the team to begin with.

Boullion is in his mid-30's and has always been a marginal player with unacceptable size (which, in combination with his lack of talent resulted in that tape-to-tape pass to Carter).

Lapierre was out of position because he assumed that Boullion would be able to make a routine play without messing up. You can blame Lapierre for thinking that Boullion could make a simple play but you can't blame him for being where he was.

Comments:

1.Flyers played their best game of the series.

2.Price gave up 2 bad goals once again. Say what you want, but the guy had very average playoffs. Yes he's young but he doesn't matter when comes the time to analyse his overall performance.

3.Habs simply missed too many chances. How many missed shots tonight ? Especially by the Kostitsyn. It's not even funny.

4.Streit simply sucked once again. He's not a playoffs guy. Don't resign him, we don't need regular season specialists.

5.I'm glad it's over. This series was too frustrating.

Show pride for a team that took 15 years to get to this point of getting ousted in 5 games to a team that a year ago finished DEAD LAST in the NHL?

Show all the pride you want for this organization... I happen to have standards.

Yeah I guess you are right, we need less guys with grit and heart like Bouillon. After all, one bad pass means he was brutal all playoffs.

CrisisInMTL 05-03-2008 09:23 PM

This probably belongs in a less ridiculous thread but on the subject of re-building....

The Flyers got to use the UFA market to build up their team, which was something MTL wasn't able to do.

However, now that MTL has reclaimed its spot as an elite franchise and players around the league got to see what a gongshow this city, the Bell Centre and the fans turn into, I think MTL will become a much more attractive place for UFA's this summer and beyond.
