Rangers at the World Championships

Tyutin, and possibly Prucha and Rozsival are headed to the World Championships:

The management confirmed that NY Rangers defenceman Fedor Tyutin will be added to the Russian roster on May 7, the day when all teams can add two more players to their rosters.

The Czech Republic team management has confirmed that forward Tomas Plekanec (Montreal Canadiens) is joining the team on Wednesday. The Czechs are also trying to get a clearance from the New York Rangers for forward Petr Prucha and defenceman Michal Rozsival.

Gomez has probably got a better shot at getting the invite than Dubi. I don't think Staal has a chance in hell. He picked the wrong country to be born in. ;)

I really hoped Dubi would be added in the event that the NYR got knocked out.

reading the swedish paper said that lundqvist aint sure.
he has problems whit his knees that he got after game 3 whit pengs.
the rangers doctors shall examine him monday and if they give green light he would

Jagr, Straka and Ruczinsky all retired from the national team after the last Olympics and won't be playing.

Jyrgen 05-06-2008 12:14 PM

Lundqvist says he will play for Sweden if the medical examination tonight doesn't stop him.

Ovens 05-06-2008 01:03 PM

Well 2 of the 3 or even all of them may not be in the long term plans and/or trade fodder so a good showing in the championships may enhance their trade value.

That's great news. Very happy NYR is not standing in the way of international competition.

This is the best news as far as I'm concerned - this is Petr's opportunity to make himself relevant again (to the Rangers or a potential trading partner) prior to training camp.

Henrik Lundqvist (Sweden), Brandon Dubinsky (USA), and Fedor Tyutin (Russia) will all represent their respective countries in the World Championships in Halifax and Quebec. Dubinsky was shipping out today. Lundqvist, who had some soreness in his knees from a hit in Game 4, expects to play for Sweden on Thursday.

Yay Dubi! I really didn't think he had a shot, but good for him! :handclap:

Lundqvist=Vezina 05-06-2008 04:06 PM
