Habs Success/Gillette's Success

All in all everyone should be happy with our season, but how about Mr. Gillette...the Habs had 7 home games, and he would pocket around 10M for those 7 games...not bad eh guys? This will take off some of the burden of that horrendous TAX BILL he faces every year???

He'll still come out and say the Habs didn't make any money this year so they can raise ticket prices next year.

yea they always say that, we didnt make much profit and etc.. but if we are always sold out for every game how can they say habs didnt make much profit !!! and if habs say they dont make profit, what about the other teams? i mean there are teams must be losing big money every year.

I'm told they clear $8M (profit) per home playoff game

Gillette makes a small fortune, but how many razor blades and sticks of deodorant can people buy?

George Gillett on the other hand runs a very good entertainment product, one of the best values in the NHL, and he's entitled to run a large profit and raise ticket prices as he sees fit.

There was an article a while back, that stated around 1.3-1.5M per home game...8M per game seems way to high???

For the playoffs it's probably close to 3m$ per, 1.3-1.5m thats the season figures. 8m$ per?, they probably said 8m$ for the flyers series, which means 8/3 = yeah 2,66m$ per.

As long as there is demand for scalped tickets, that means that the market can sustain a ticket price increase from the team.

I'd rather the team make money then the scalpers.

I'd rather someone bag up all the scalpers then throw the bag into the St-Lawrence so I have a chance at actually scoring tickets when they go on sale.:cry::cry::cry:

it could also be for further rounds too.. i vaguely remember hearing the cup final teams rake in 5+ million per game or something along those lines, either way tho 8 mil per game seems obscenely high regardless.
i know the oilers cup run made the ownership group quite a pretty penny when they lost to the canes
