Have you guys signed Michael Frolik yet?

Not yet, though I believe he will be soon.

I didn't see this thread when I posted one, been deleted now.

Still have Bouw, Olesz, Frolik, etc. to go. Martin's been working, though, good to see.

Ellerby can't play in the AHL next year can he? Isn't he too young?

He was allowed to play for a spot last off-season, I imagine they'll have him try to do the same this off-season.

Thread title edited to be a little more specific.;)

Hmm...Ellerby, Beaverson, Belak...Martin's taking his "defense-first" philosophy to extremes now:sarcasm::laugh:

He can indeed play in the AHL with the Amerks next season because he played 4 full years in Juniors.

Its nice to sign all these guys, but it worries me when they are getting done before the guys that could re-enter.

Well, for all the concern I have, that's something I wouldn't worry about. They're getting done because there's not a lot of pressure Beaverson was eligible to go back in the draft, but wasn't a standout in college so he didn't have much to bargain with and was lucky to get a deal. Kreps only needed a qualifying offer and then Martin had all year to get him signed if he wanted. Belak wanted to stay in Florida and Martin wanted him, so a deal got hammered out there. Ellerby is ready to go pro but can't re-enter the draft yet, so there wasn't much to bargain with to get a big deal there, either - especially after he struggled in juniors this season.

These are simply the easier deals getting done first - I'm certain Martin and his staff are busy negotiating every priority contract to some extent simultaneously.
