OT: Cartoons from the early 90's

So I don't think I have ever done an OT thread before but this as been bugging me for weeks.
Does anyone remember a cartoon with a boy and is dog that would go on the roof of this appartment building at night and inflate a pink spaceship to travel to other worlds?

Also whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons on network TV.
They suck nowadays.

Bell and Sebastien

Tres cool
But not that one.
They didn't travel in space. Although that could have been a great spin-off:)

Ya tried a few of those sites and I'm starting to think that I may not be able to recognize the title.

For some reason I think of the name Archibald when think of that cartoon but that has not help in my search.

Do I win?
The Adventures of Aladar Mezga - Series originated in Hungary
Animated series "The Adventures of Aladár Mézga" debuted in 1972. The main character, Aladár, visits every night a different inhabited planet using an inflatable space ship. The script was partly written by József Nepp who also wrote scripts for Gustav. The are two more animated series that deal with Mézga family.
Trivia: The name "Mézga" means bad luck in Hungarian

I used to be a pretty big fan of Gargoyles on ABC

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108783/

The story was great and it was actually moving forward unlike many other cartoons from that era (TMNT i'm looking at you). I still plan to download all 3 seasons very soon . If you never watched this series , i highly recommend it. It's good stuff and also quite mature for a cartoon.

I do. I used to watch this show on Super Ecran when I was young, with those old Videoway decoder. I even had my carte of Le Club Des Supers Amis, or something like that. It was a great cartoon, Cadillacs, guns, badass hero, badass badguys and dinosaurs. Drawing and animation were nice, and they had really great designs (well that's what I tought at that time) for the cars and the guns.

You know what I hate?

Making a long post, clicking Post and then realizing the board logged you off and you lost your post.

It was a great post, too...

Doug
Arthur
Mutant League Football
Spiderman: The Animated Series

these I watched religiously

Blades 0f Steel 05-22-2008 07:32 PM

man, Visionaries had the coolest toys.

now I've got the MASK theme in my head, I don't remember anything about the episodes but I used to watch the opening all the time. That's how they'd hook you back then -catchy intro's produced in Japan and awesome toys. Actual episodes were garbage 9/10 times in the 80's because they knew it was gimmicky and only last for year.

In fact the shows were based around new toy lines. Following the gigantic commercial success of merchandise from The Empire Strikes back, toy companies soon realized kids swarmed for this stuff and the animation boom was on. It was all about selling the toys!

If I recall correctly, figures for Conan cartoon series that never saw the light of day were designed. They kept the figures, but changed the show to be called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and build a new show around it.
