Van-LA

Could help both teams. Looks like Lewis won't get much of a chance in LA with all the young offensive talent on the roster and will most likely get outplayed by Purcell for a roster spot so they can move him for a young defenseman. Vancouver would gain a young center who could maybe step in this year as the second line center.

To Van:
Trevor Lewis

To LA:
Luc Bourdon

Peter Griffin 05-23-2008 07:35 PM

I'd rather have Bourdon.

wabwat 05-23-2008 07:36 PM

i'd consider it...

Michael Scott* 05-23-2008 07:48 PM

Decent proposal, but Bourdon's upside is more than Lewis IMO.

ibleedkings 05-23-2008 07:57 PM

Done deal.

Gillis quickly hangs up the phone.

Yeah because if you haven't done anything by the time you're 21 you suck.

Yeah because he clearly said that Lewis hadn't done anything before he was 21 and therefore sucks.

No?

Bourdon's got a lot of promise, and we'll only be moving him for proven offense.

Barney Gumble 05-23-2008 11:39 PM

Might've considered this last year - but I think Bourdon showed enough for me this past season to consider holding on to him. Won't get fair value for him in a trade at this point in his development.

Proven offense might be a bit much, a guy like Brassard or Ryan I could see though.

Trevor Lewis had pretty poor AHL number this year.

I would take those numbers lightly. It's his first year in the AHL.

True but his numbers at Owen Sound in the OHL were'nt great either. Is he a role type player? he is not overly big. He was probobly Bobby Ryan's center.

mkearney913 05-24-2008 10:04 AM

No deal, Gillis is gonna go for a proven center before giving up Bourdon, if giving him up at all.

Brown is pretty much untouchable now in LA... young player, tons more upside, longterm deal locked up at a good salary...

it'd take a severe overpayment to get him as he is a key player on LA forward crop that they are building around.

I don't think that Bourdon has near enough value to get the type of player that Vancouver would want... right now he's probably closer in value to a guy like Tukonen, and that's not worth it for the canucks. IMO it'd be a better move to trade Edler for a bigger piece returning, and put Bourdon into the lineup fulltime.

Lewis will not be manning any teams 2nd lline center position for the next year or two. His development has just begun in the AHL. He had a bad first year but should completely erase that next year with some improved linemates. He's versatile with solid potential and has the character Lombardi craves. That being said, I think the Kings would probably accept your offer.

King RAZZ 05-24-2008 03:41 PM

Oh yeah...add ten pucks coming our way in the deal as well...so we don't feel that we were cheated...:sarcasm:

eeeeeeeeeeeh. I'm very reluctant to part with Simmonds. I give up Lewis for bourdon very quickly.

Simmonds is another story however.

CM- 05-24-2008 06:04 PM

Hm... I don't know about fair value or whether he'd move but I like Boyle in LA maybe something like Boyle + 3rd for Bourdon (tho I don't want to move Bourdon).
