Best Rangers Goal Ever?

Hey guys, just want to share memories and opinions of the best goal ever scored by a Ranger.

For me personally having Brian Leetch be my idol I would have to go with his end to end rush against Philly, early to mid 90's I can't remember exactly but I had that game on VHS and watched that goal about 1000 times it was amazing.

So let's hear some of your fondest Ranger goal memories.

And if anyone has a vid or link to a video of the goal i'm talking about please let me know.

Very important for sure, meaningless goals count too in this discussion not just the ones that mattered the most at the time.

Ill go with the obvious

<----

The passing between Zubov and Messier. Leetch taking his time to put it far side top shelf. When the goal was scored. Amazing.

Not sure if it's the best ever, but it is a good one that gets overlooked... Tikannen's OT winner against the Panthers in the '97 playoffs that went off the goal cam and came right back out.... Loved that goal and the fact that my dad had said that Tik would win it for us.

I was going to say the same. That was such a pretty set up, the goal was a thing of beauty, and the Rangers were off. That has to rank as one of the biggest goals in franchise history.

A bit OT, but does anyone remember when Leetch scored a literally identical goal vs. the Panthers with around 4 seconds left? That was totally bizarre. Then Graves scored the winner in OT.

The Rucinsky glass goal, the Moore goal off of Luongo's pad behind the netwith time expiring goal, the Petr Nedved overtime winner off his butt goal, and the Nigel Dawes bowling ball goal were all classic.

Sorry but I have a lot of problems when the celebration is better than the goal itself.

Thankfully Sean seems to have grown up a bit.

If we can include penalty shots then Malik v the Caps deserves a mention.

How about a couple years when Leetch scored the OT winner against the Islander. If I remember correctly he rushed scored it in front of the night, facing center ice and through his legs? I don't remember the exact goal I just remember it being a thing of beauty.

Peter Stemkowski's goal in triple overtime against Chicago in 1971.

If the game had gone on any longer my date would have died from alcohol poisoning.

I'm sure it's not the best, but the first goal I thought of when I read the thread was Prucha's little dispy-doodle backhand goal on Messier night.

1) Leetch's in game 7 against NJD. That was Bobby Orr.

2) Turcotte against Detroit at the garden in 1990. Takes the puck at his own blue line, splits through three at center, then splits the d in the slot and while falling he shovelled the puck past Cheveldae with one hand.

3) Malik's shootout goal. I know it's a shootout, but I never saw that by any Ranger ever.

Leetch's behind the net spin o rama against the Devils. Probably the most skilled Ranger goal i've ever seen...

What he said.

Matteau's goal just for the memories and the fact that it got us to the finals, but Leetch's goal is without a doubt the sweetest goal I've ever seen considering the circumstances.
