OT: Free Burger @ Harveys (Quebec)

Today before 3 pm was 2 free burgers per client at Harveys across Quebec. I found out by accident and was pleasantly surprised. Anyone else take advantage of this?

I forgot. Oh well, I'm on one of those healthy diets anyways so I guess I still win.

There used to be a Harvey's next to the Greenfield Park Cinema on Taschereau blvd. I doubt that it's still there, the cinema isn't, I don't think. My friend and I were walking thru the parking lot one Friday evening, oh let's say about 1970 or 71, and noticed that something was under the windshields of the cars in the theatre's parking lot. We felt the need to investigate and lo and behold, Free Teen Burger certificates. We never even discussed it. We went up and down the rows of cars and took every single certificate.

The girls loved us for awhile. What 16 year old springs for lunch on a regular basis ? I'm not advocating such lawless behavior but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

The Harvey's definitely isn't there anymore.

Where you going ?
To the bank.
It's only 8.30.
Yeah, but there's a lineup at 9.
But if you get there early, isn't it the same as , forget it.

Pascal 05-26-2008 08:46 AM

lol, you must be my brother. I had the same conversation with my old man a couple of years ago as he was preparing to cash-in the aged bag of rolled pennies that was at the bottom of the closet.

Anyone go to the Harvey's on Peel? It's got the most useless staff I've ever seen at a fast food place. Also, every employee there is at least 40 years old, it's weird...

Watsatheo 05-26-2008 08:08 PM

Oh wait it was Harveys? I was under the impression it was Burger King for some reason.

Ghost of Saku 05-26-2008 09:38 PM

Wow, I went to the drive-thru and was the only car there - it took 2 minutes - plus they gave us 2 free each (I heard from people they were only getting one)

The cinema stayed open as a $1 or $2 theatre for a bit when the Guzzo 18 multiplex went up next to it, then was torn down and they paved the land for more Guzzo parking. It was the first cinema I went to, and was a nice place.

I think the Harvey's was replaced by the Giorgio, at least if the Harvey's was right at the corner of Taschereau. I don't honestly remember a Harvey's there.

It only takes them 15 minutes to figure out how to put the pickle you pointed at on the burger they're dressing up for you.
