Dagenais & Perreault in the stands

Claude Julien decided that he will not ask for the service of fowards Pierre Dagenais and Yanic Perrault for tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators. It's Chad Kilger and Andreas Dackell that will take their place in the alignment.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! :handclap:

Although I'm not a big fan of The Chad, IMO he's an improvement over both Perreault and Dags. And yay for Dackell! I like him. :)

Karlof 02-14-2004 12:41 PM

If Kilger can get on his game and throw his body around, he'll fit perfectly with Bégin and Langdon. Let's hope that he will understand his physical role and starts checking the opposition like he should.

As for Dackell, he's an improvement over Dagenais, at least the guy is faster and he can pass.

Do you guys think it's the end for Dagenais in Montreal? I think so... Maybe he'll get another chance in one or two games, but he should be back in Hamilton in 2-3 weeks.

So does this mean that chad plays on the second line rw, if so,i like it :D

There is a god.

YP and dags would have been so useless against a fast skating, great defensively and quick counter attacking Sens team tonite.

My forward lineup:

Bulis-Koivu-Ryder
Zednik-Ribeiro-Ward/Dackell
Sundstrom-Juneau-Ward/Dackell
Kilger-Begin-Langdon

With Ward on the 2nd line being my preferance...

It's gotta be a slow day up there if he's[assuming 'he'] is making line combinations.

I would also stick Wardo on the 2nd line because of his size...and now even our 4th line looks better.

I hope this is the end of the Dagenais experience...

Cariboux 02-14-2004 12:57 PM

I would like to see Dackell on the 3rd and Sundstrom get his chance on the 2nd. CJ said lately that he would wants more offensive production from Sunny, so play him on the second would be a perfect fit at the moment and his defensive game would help both Z and Ribs

Vicious 02-14-2004 12:58 PM

By what we saw last game, I think they will try Begin on the second line.

Dutchy 02-14-2004 01:03 PM

I can't wait to get another legitimate top 6 winger. UFAs, trading or Hamilton... Anything's good. But I think that it's about time we get someone to take Bulis and Dags' place.

Begin has very limited offensive ability and I think is better suited as a 4th line center. He might work out on the 2nd line but he wouldn't be my first choice.

Nor mine. But RDS people want to try him there.. And Julien did use him with Ribs against the Bolts.

RE-HABS 02-14-2004 01:17 PM

Maybe Koivu will be with Sundstrum again like when he first came back after injury???

But Ward on the 2nd line is more proabable.

Tuggy 02-14-2004 01:26 PM

Its also great to see Dackell back in the lineup because lately our defensive play has been lax, and Dags and Perrault aren't exactly defensive dynamos.

Bachelor Bobby 02-14-2004 02:07 PM

It's great to see Kilger and Dackell be back but I think it means the end for Perrault. :( . This guy is so important when important faceoff comes. Why all the year long this guy was unable to take place in the lineup. Maybe he was never in the plans of Julien

Either that or.....HE SUCKS!!!!! :D

Habeas Corpus 02-14-2004 02:39 PM

Before Begin was injured he was playing very well on a line with dackell and sundstrom. I woudln't mind seeing that line again.

I'd like to get Zednik back on track!

Zednik Koivu Ward
Bulis Ribeiro Ryder
Sundstrom Begin Dackell
Kilger Juneau Langdon

My reasons for the changes are as follows:

1st..Moving Zednik to the 1st line might spark a flame sine he'd be playing with Koivu and that's where he wants to be. As for Ward I think having to guys banging on that first line would be great, I think Ward could be really usefull tonight on a first line. further more he's deserved it! I think Bulis and Ryder would compliment Ribeiro very well, Ryder needs a bit of a wake up call and he's too important to bench at this point in the year so moving him down to second line might wake him up. The third line well I removed Juneau from there as I think he's too slow and old to be able to check the Hossa line. I think Begin has deserved the ice time even though he's taken a couple of bad penalties lately.

Guy! 02-14-2004 03:46 PM

I'm not normally one for short posts, but...

Hallelujah!

Give Sunny a try on the first line and move Bulis down to line two with his buddy Zed. See if that works.

These suggestions I'm hearing for Dags' replacement are all leaving me cold. Ward? Dackell? Sundstrom? BEGIN? None of these guys could find the net with a map.

It's clear we need some help for the stretch. Hell, even Bulis shouldn't be where he is, IMO. The kids aren't ready yet, and this team needs more veteran leadership and toughness. A trade is the only way out of this that I can see.

That's funny I used the exact same word when I learned about the news.

That's the voice of reason

But out of Sunstrom , Dackell , Ward and Begin , i defititively think that Ward is the best suited to play with Ribs and Zednik considering his size.

Vicious 02-14-2004 05:21 PM

Well, RDS announced Julien's lines for tonight:

Bulis-Koivu-Ryder
Sundstrom-Ribeiro-Zednik
Kilger-Juneau-Ward
Langdon-Begin-Dackell
