2004 - 2008 NHL Draft
LW - Johannes Salmonsson
D - Brendan Mikkelson
C - Tomas Kana
D - T.J. Brennan

Historically, the 31st pick hasn't had great success. Just some food for thought if you believe in this kinda thing. Hopefully it turns around this year.

Felix Potvin was a terrific pick, but other than that, kind of crappy.

Crossbar 06-18-2008 12:41 PM

Very interesting, good job researching this chaosrevolver.

State of Hockey 06-18-2008 01:00 PM

Wow, those stats are shocking. The futility at such a high selection is hard to believe.

Sarcasm?

Let's trade the pick!

PanthersRule96 06-18-2008 04:04 PM

When all is said and done I'll be extremely surprised if we actually do indeed pick at 31 and not before then. This draft is extremely good and there are some future building blocks in here. I think Martin will get us into the first round.

I May Be Wrong 06-18-2008 04:08 PM

Pretty crazy to look at honestly.

CanadianPantherFan 06-18-2008 06:18 PM

D - Brendan Mikkelson (Ana. ?) SHOULD be a future top four NHL . dman for the Ducks

FlaPanthers7 06-18-2008 07:29 PM

I can't believe you put all that together! :thumbu: I think this year it's a pretty deep draft so we might be able to get someone who can be a decent contributor. We got Huselius in the 2nd round & I believe Kreps was as well.

Markstrom Rules 06-18-2008 07:47 PM

All that means nothing. It's just an anomaly. I don't believe in superstition. Mikkelson and Brennan should become good defensemen in the NHL, as CanadianPantherFan alluded to.

BackGroundMusic 06-18-2008 07:59 PM

Rick Corriveau - Didn't he play in RHI?

HOCKEYGOON 06-18-2008 08:05 PM

I am happy to see that Felix Potvin will go down as the greatest 31st draft pick in NHL history. :handclap:

Dude, comeon man. Some people like this stuff which is why I did it. I clearly pointed that out in my post.

Yeah, but why point out something negative like that on the Panthers board of all places. I just don't understand the reasoning, that's all.

Are you saying we have enough negativity ,we don't need anymore with concerns to the Panthers:naughty:

I know you're not a troll, and I appreciate all the input you've given us over the year with regards to Matthias. That's why I was so surprised to see you post that, I guess I just misinterpreted what you were trying to say.

Better Call Saul 06-19-2008 12:57 AM

Interesting stuff. Regardless of being selected 31st, I have high hopes for Brennan.

Otherwise, it's pretty sad that Laraque is the third-best player listed above (behind Potvin and Tucker).

Beezer 06-19-2008 07:57 AM

Maybe we can get help from the best scouting team in all of sports, Tha Marlins scout team. Then we would have the upper hand for sure and that would guarantee we picked a stud instead of a dud with that 31st.

Vokoun29 06-19-2008 05:18 PM

Why focus on the damn 31st pick, why not focus on great players drafted after the 30th pick?

No, why would it be? Those stats are hard to believe for the 31st overall.
