Situation with Malik

I haven't heard nor read anything on him. Is he as good as gone. I for one sure hope he is, I hope the reason I haven't heard about him is because the Rags want to rid him of their history asap. Somebody enlighten me :D

Burlington Bomb 26 06-22-2008 03:27 PM

They already re-signed him to a 15 year contract worth 5 mil per year with a Full NMC:sarcasm:

oh yeah the 3 mil if we make it to the playoffs and the extra 5 mil per if he gets 3 points in one season

The title of this thread is a little strange, considering that there is no "situation" per se. Marek Malik is an unrestricted free agent who will not be re-signed.

End of thread.

weve got a better chance of signing Campbell, Hossa, and trading for Kovalchuk all this offseason than we do of signing Malik.

I suppose Callahan should have a likewise bonus built in because of his similar scoring abilities.

12 goals in 66 career games...we should be expecting so much more from a rookie 3rd liner.

should be 50 goals:sarcasm: but seriously Callahan did what i thought he would do, he was a great energy player that can notch a goal once in a while

Adios my friend (or suitable alternate like M**************), you're on your own.

There is nothing to discuss here. Move along, move along.

Even when he's going to leave he gets hate. I wish the big man the best of luck as long as he joins a tolerable team.
Thanks for the good service.

I hope someone in the atlantic signs him. Playing Malik 8 times a year would be sweet.

But with our luck he'll become a ****ing Norris candidate.

HockeyBasedNYC 06-23-2008 09:19 AM

Last i heard he was walking around Edmonton aimlessly and his equipment was nowhere to be found.

He is good as gone.

Celestial Black 06-23-2008 09:28 AM

He is gone gone gone. Thankfully.

I believe that Callahan finished with 3 more points than Malik in 10 more games.

Obviously Callahan is a better offensive player and a better player going forward but Malik, a non-offensive defenseman, gets non-stop hate while scoring at the same rate as a "goal scoring" forward.

I just enjoy pointing out the double standard at work here. Nothing personal against Callahan.

Jarmac 06-23-2008 10:42 AM

Don't worry, Sather will sign Malik and no one else :sarcasm:.

:help: if he does that he should be fired for stupidity

Blueshirt Brawler 06-23-2008 01:03 PM

What situation? The Rangers sent him a signal loud and clear when he was benched in the playoffs. Good riddance!
