Avery to Dallas?

It would be interesting to see him in Dallas considering Morrow doesn't like him much at all. If he can act like an adult he still can produce decent numbers.

im pretty sure every player that has played against Avery doesnt like him.
most im sure would not mind having him playing with them, driving the oposition nuts.

Starsdude 06-23-2008 03:38 PM

I orginally though it would be okay but we do not need another LW left shot at 3+per year. We need RW right shots , is it overkill also given we have Ott

Could you imagine Ott-Avery-Barch ..........They would leave carnage all over the ice!

They'd be good for a few goals over the season too.

A few? Avery had 15 last year and Ott had 11...Barch had well 1

Avery and Ott on the 3rd line would not only be havoc for those on the other team but they CAN SCORE

Would probably put Peterson with them but again Avery over 2.+ is too much

Thats nAvery' s biggest problem. He acts like a 15 year old. Other words you will bget a hockey player who breaks balls and plays hard game in and out. A great adddition to any team. He just needs to mature. I would love him back for the NYR for a 3 year contract, but $$$$$$$'s is the issue. he isnt not worth what he is asking. As a NYR fan I would say offer him 2.8-2.9 tops, maybe 3 mill, if he dont want it, let him walk.

No. Brenden Morrow hates Avery. I doubt they would risk bringing that locker room cancer to this team.

Bingo, that's like putting Avery and Matt Cooke together.

Avery & Jagr became friends even after "the night Jagr almost killed Avery".

MG91 06-23-2008 11:34 PM

I dont think its gonna happen. Too much hatred.

he can produce even when he's not acting like an adult.

the key is him wanting to be wherever he goes and staying healthy.

but moot point anyway. this ain't happenin'.

Boyesfan 06-24-2008 12:04 AM

I really want him to play for the blues... Someone that can cheap shot players as good as Tootoo can for the preds...

Not the same thing at all...why would Jagr hate Avery (or have any animosity towards him whatsoever) for taking a dive?

Osprey 06-24-2008 02:11 AM

This makes some sense (as a rumor) because Dallas has Dave Taylor, who was in LA with Avery and left before he really became a problem. He saw the "better" side of Sean, the spunky young guy with potential, and didn't stay around long enough to see the worst, so it would make sense if the Stars have an interest.

Avery was targeting Jagr big time in that game. Same little battles he has with every teams top player generally. What is so special about Avery-Morrow? Because they have had a fight? lots of players later play together who have fought.

Brilliant post...no go back and turn the TV on and watch Nickelodeon because obviously you dont watch hockey if you think Ott and Barch are cheap. But nice try on trying to contribute to an adult conversation!

Crescent Street 06-24-2008 09:21 AM

Wait a second, Steve Ott doesn't throw around cheap shots? LOL.
Get real.

Actually he doesn't...not every agitator is cheap!

If you think he does then provide the PROOF instead of making unfounded claims!

Tucker316* 06-24-2008 11:58 AM

To be honest, it's Avery who hardly ever throws around cheap shots, or plays with any intent to injure opposing players. He acts up, he talks a ton of smack, and he is annoying, but he doesnt really play dirty.

Only time he ever did was against Shane Doan.

He's like a prankster, an annoying kid in school who knows it and likes the attention from it.

Whereas you'll have your more reserved players for longer periods of time, but they have the ability to snap at a moments notice, and who do get dirty and try to injure, like a Darcy Tucker or a Steve Downie.

Kritter471 06-24-2008 12:07 PM

Steve Ott throws an occasional cheap shot, but he's not as dangerous as, say, Tootoo. Ott's more of a stickwork/yappy guy than a dangerous hit guy.

As far as Avery - Do. Not. Want.
