OT: Canada Day

Anyone doing anything special other than refreshing all their sports/rumor sites with TSN on the TV in the background?

I'm taking a little roadtrip to Ottawa to have some Red Lobster and possible Canada Day celebrations at the Parliament. I will clearly be keeping my phone nearby for my TSN updates. Also, does anyone know any good sports radio stations in Ottawa? I'm not sure how long I'll have team 990 reception in the car.

I'm not doing anything special. Will be drinking, but then again, it's what I do nearly every day. :help:

I have a potential date at the Old Port...We'll see if it still happens, after the insane ex girlfriend drama-confrontation thing that happened on Sunday...

I can't remember how many Canada Days I spent moving either myself or friends up & down those dreaded deadly stair cases of triplexes in and around Verdun & Ville Emard. This year I'm back in Montreal & will enjoy it drinking beers outside at the Old Port.

ChemiseBleuHonnete 06-30-2008 02:23 PM

lol, we're in Quebec, who does something special for Canada's day? Burning a Canada flag perhaps*? Or more realistically, moving or moving a friend? That's all I could think of...

* :sarcasm: or :sarcasm: on the :sarcasm:

In Québec, we celebrate moving day the week after our national holiday, the Saint-Jean Baptiste. This year, I'm holding a BBQ and I will have a Canadian flag hanging from my balcony for the ambiance. I figured that Canada day would be a fun holiday to try. Afterall, Canada is a nicer country than the US of A.

Canada Day? Huh, **** that.

1200 is their sports station, but you should get 990 all the way. It gets fuzzy near the city and I usually switch, but you can still at least get the 20 minute updates if you can stand the static.

Going to relax at home.

David_99 06-30-2008 02:47 PM

Maybe I'll get one of those this year.

It was André Breton's, in the 1920s-30s.

From the Ottawa Sens web site, it appears that Team 1200 is their radio station.

So, I would say that 1200 on the AM dial is where to go since they bill themselves as Team 1200 Sports Radio.

If you had XM satellite radio, go to channel 204. Hockey topics 24/7.

Only two locations for Red Lobster in Ottawa, assuming you are talking about the restaurant....

Have a great time...

Réjean Tremblay COMMANDS you to NOT celebrate Canada day...

But who cares what Rej says anyway...
