Best European ever played for HABS

Who is the best European ever played for the HABS?
In my opinion Saku Koivu.

Darz 02-17-2004 01:09 PM

After everything is said and done, my vote will probablely be for Koivu but as of right now I'll still say Mats Naslund.

Natural Habs Fan 02-17-2004 01:13 PM

Naslund

Gros Bill 02-17-2004 01:14 PM

Naslund, for now at least.

Don't forget Irniff Samorv, who's career never really took off (always had a cold).

Cariboux 02-17-2004 01:15 PM

Mats Naslund.

If he had heart, Malakhov would have been the better

It's hard to compare Saku Koivu with Mats Naslund.

Yes, Naslund had 100+ point seasons, but that was back in the high scoring NHL days.

Who knows what Koivu could have done back then.

Also, I think Rucinsky deserves a nomination here, having around 50 point seasons in those years, when let's face it, we had absolutely no offence, is pretty decent. (fond memories of him playing on a line with Andrei Bashkirov and Juha Lind :joker: )

Also, Oleg Petrov deserves some respect as well, if solely on creativity, to bad once he came to the NHL, his hands became stone once he got within 3 feet of the net...

so, I guess...(and note, I haven't thought of D-man)

1. Saku Koivu
2. Mats Naslund
3. Oleg Petrov
4. Martin Rucinsky

Mats Naslund, Saku close second.
Like one of you say, Malakhov with a heart transplant would have beat them flat...

Guy Caballero 02-17-2004 01:50 PM

I'm goin' with Juha Lind
