HAPPY HOUR 07-02-2008 12:59 PM

Tough D-man. Think he played briefly with SJ.

lundy 07-02-2008 12:59 PM

FLYLine24 07-02-2008 01:00 PM

I really hope a trade is coming with all of these minor signings.

FATCHAMALA11 07-02-2008 01:00 PM

We are now more stacked then Detroit.

HatTrick Swayze 07-02-2008 01:00 PM

Do they mean JIM Fahey?

:help:

If it really is Brian...then I will have to do some research...

EDIT: Wow it actually is Brian Fahey...our top-6 is looking STACKED

levski87 07-02-2008 01:00 PM

Sather is really building the farm here. Hartford looks more of a contender than the Rangers sadly.

ThirdEye 07-02-2008 01:00 PM

Well, at least his AHL stats aren't terrible.

Inferno 07-02-2008 01:01 PM

looks like a depth move for a Hartford team that lost Liffiton.

Eklund has been talking that guy up for awhile, saying that the Chicago Wolves are the closest thing to an NHL franchise in the AHL and Fahey and Kwiatkowski deserved to play in the NHL but who knows. I don't believe anything that he reports, so I'll wait till I see it on TSN but if anything it would be a two way deal I'd guess...

edit: http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=15722

"The Chicago Wolves are virtually an NHL franchise in the way they are run and they are developing players like one, too.

Two players in particular are already getting huge UFA interest and I am told will POSITIVELY be NHL players this season. Joel Kwiatkowski and Brian Fahey.

You may have heard of Joel but maybe not Brian. However, both are EXTREMELY capable defensemen, and it may actually be Brian that is more sought after right now.

Of Fahey a source told me today, "There simply are not many well-rounded, puck-moving defensemen around." And a team executive out West believes that he is almost certainly headed to a Western team in desperate need of help on the blue line."

Granted, absolutely nothing else in that post actually happened, but I knew I remembered reading about this guy

FATCHAMALA11 07-02-2008 01:03 PM

Also says Oilers are close to one year deal with Jagr. Take it for what its worth.

lundy 07-02-2008 01:03 PM

Well two huge signings today, and they both determined who is going to vie for the cup next year. You got Hossa in Detroit, and Fahey in New York....

DontStepanMe 07-02-2008 01:04 PM

maybe he will be our #6 dman... maybe this means that backman will be traded and have an open tryout for #6 and #7 dman between Sangs, Fahey, Potter, Pock

i would die of laughter if that were actually true. A guy like Jagr playing in Edmonton, makes NO sense whatsoever.

IMHO, its Pittsburgh, New York, or Omsk. The guy likes what is familiar, there is no question about that.

rangers5 07-02-2008 01:05 PM

We need some more D depth in Hartford, really wish his name was Jagr though

GarretJoseph* 07-02-2008 01:05 PM

AWESOME! I'm heading out now to buy his jersey.

Instead of rolling 4 lines, Sather is prepared to roll 2 teams, Rangers and the wolf pack. Depth WITHIN the Depth... Genius!

HockeyBasedNYC 07-02-2008 01:06 PM

This is kinda scary.

Sather is stacking the bottom for something.

Sanguinetti, watch your back.
