Youth?

Anyone else realize how young this team suddenly is? Our oldest players are Drury and Redden and they're only 31. Far far cry from the days before the lockout.

Are we, as it stands right now, one of the youngest teams in terms of average age in the league? Possibly.

Just commenting here on how odd it seems. We may add an older player here during the rest of the off-season, but still...

Yeah, it's very surprising. This hasn't happened since I became a fan years before the Cup. I think the last time we had a better group of youngsters was in the late 80s.

Interesting, I hadn't realized that yet. I like it! :)

Average age is now approx 25.7, that's down big time from last years 27.5

It'll probably go up a little bit, whether they sign Naslund, Demitra, or even Jagr. But Sather mentioned youth in the Zherdev conference call. It's certainly nice to have all this youth.

Youth indeed and we have a lot more youth in our pool to fill spots, which I am really looking forward too.

i love it because it means energy.....look at teams like montreal and pitt who have a ton of youth...they play a speed game which is extremely exciting to watch....playing with heart and skill is the way to win in the new nhl......

zherdev, vorros, fritsche are all very young....i like the direction of this team
