REMINDER: According to HF criterias, Carey Price has graduated because he has played more than 45 NHL games

S. Kost is 1 game away from graduation with 52 regular season games+ 12 playoffs games this year (HF criteria=65) but to me he has graduated

Ryan O'byrne will still be considered a prospect as he has only played 37 games with the Habs as well has Halak

my vote goes to Weber. Great season with Kitchener rangers... one of our best prospects close to the NHL

Beakermania* 07-05-2008 08:18 AM

Ryan White again, add Missiaien

JrHockeyFan 07-05-2008 09:34 AM

I have not seen Fischer play at all. Is he really good?

His stats are not much help.

Regular Season Playoffs
Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM GP G A Pts PIM
2006-07 U. of Minnesota NCAA 42 0 5 5 14
2007-08 U. of Minnesota NCAA 45 2 12 14 18

What is it about this kid that people like? Can somebody who knows tell us

One Man Rock Band 07-05-2008 09:38 AM

Korneev and its not close.

Dwight 07-05-2008 09:41 AM

Very tall defenceman who is excellent on one on one's, great breakout passes and is a solid skater. The only flaw in his game right now is he needs to be stronger in front of the net and in the corners, once he adds more weight to his skinny body (I believe he's 6'4'' 180 lbs right now) he'll be a hell of a defenceman IMO.

kostitsyn1489 07-05-2008 09:59 AM

Fischer, if this was a draft I'd say he's a steal. Top 5, falling to 10, easy pick for sure.

Habs 4 Life 07-05-2008 10:12 AM

Weber

WeThreeKings 07-05-2008 10:17 AM

Fischer, add Pateryn.

Watsatheo 07-05-2008 10:21 AM

Fischer add Philippe Paquet

FWIW- HF doesn't seem to count playoff games for some reason. So Price has 41 games and SK has 52 games played. However, I agree that they should be graduated as they are NHLers now.

yanokovich 07-05-2008 10:28 AM

I vote for Matt D'Agostini,he will make the team this year!

Kachino 07-05-2008 11:55 AM

Fischer... I still think he's going to be a solid #3-4 defenseman...

Not to be a tool, but how many times have you actually seen Kristo play?

We all saw how amazing Korneev was in the WC.

Kaptain Bégin 07-05-2008 01:13 PM

Fisher, add Paquet.

For Korneev, he's a really talented player in Russia, but what about his desire to play here? If he don't want to play in NHL, he worth zero.

Phil Parent 07-05-2008 01:21 PM

Fischer, add Paquet

It was rumoured (even McGuire said something about it) that Korneev planned to play the 2008-2009 season in Russia (He's contracted to it).. and then plans to come over in 2009.

I think Korneev has more desire to play here than Emelin.

I thought Yemelin was interested in coming here but his agent didn't tell him about the Canadien's offer until after he signed in Russia, which resuled in him firing that agent and getting a new one?

Ahh was that what happened?

Probably right.. I just remember I was so excited.. and then let down.

Korneev also wasn't drafted by Timmins/Gainey.. so that might be a reason he hasn't come over either.

JrHockeyFan 07-05-2008 02:39 PM

This is a kind of a strange exercise. ranking players we have not seen in some cases. Including players that are on the NHL club, but calling them prospects by a definition.

I still have to wonder what the point is if we are not rating them based upon potential. How otherwise are you going to rate an NHL player against an 18 yr old Jr. And why would you bother?

Nobody is even saying why they think their picks are better than others.

Thanks by the way to the folks who have seen the college players and taken time to describe what they like about them. I see virtually no college hockey at all and several of the players listed highly are in that category.

Russians playing for other clubs outside the agreement really are not prospects since they are effectively unusable. Korneev was drafted in 2002 and is 25 yrs old. Emelin in 2004.
