I can't see much interest in Ouellet.

If Tampa is offering a 1st rounder they will find plenty of people willing to take their 1st overall pick next year.

SuburbanRhythm 07-08-2008 06:03 PM

Darryl Sydor plays in Pittsburgh, which apparently makes him a really attractive option to Tampa.

MOENing 07-08-2008 06:04 PM

Mathieu Schneider

SkullSplitter 07-08-2008 06:08 PM

Sydor for a 4th!

Modo 07-08-2008 06:35 PM

Philippe Boucher for Jussi Jokinen. :D

SlowShot 07-08-2008 06:37 PM

We will trade you kubina back.

CaptBrannigan 07-08-2008 06:52 PM

I wouldn't want anyone with too many years left on their contract. Ranger, Lundin, Smaby, Picard, SOB, Mihalik, Carle, Niskala are all likely to only improve as they get a little bit older. I wouldn't want a lesser veteran taking up their space just because we may need one now.

Dogbert* 07-08-2008 06:55 PM

Tampa can have Aucoin for a jaunty tune. Wouldn't cost them much, and his contract expires next June.

That's why you get Sydor. He's buddy buddy with Rex and Roberts and is only on contract for one more season.

I don't think he would make the top 6 though, kind of defeating the purpose.

If it's pre-lockout Sydor, sure. If it's the post-lockout Matador...no thanks. We've already been through that. Sydor is just an older version of what the Lightning already have, they need a defensive d-man who can play physical.

VP and GM 07-08-2008 07:26 PM

Kyle Mclaren for a 3rd/4th.

They signed the post-lockout Recchi presumably because Gary Roberts said make it so. Hopefully Mr. Roberts has the owner's ear for one more bad signing so we can get rid of our trash. I mean hey if you're building a monument to recent Penguin failure with the likes of Ouellet, Roy, and Recchi then you can't be without Sydor as well.

Boomhower 07-08-2008 07:43 PM

Lilja for a 5th

Holland has left the door open for dealing Lilja following training camp. (If Ericsson and Quincey play well)

Edit: Sorry you're looking for quality, missed that.

thedoctor 07-08-2008 07:53 PM

Jordan Leopold for Jokinen + pick would make a lot of sense for both teams...

What the hell........the lightning sign everyone

that Artuchuk guy is back and Recchi?.......to go with old man Roberts........that will be an old line .....and I saw they go Bocheski

If they are smart they keep Oulett as he played with the Pens the yr before and they just got Malone, Roberts,Hall, Recchi who were Pens.................

I imagine they have to deal 2 forwards for 1 D man now...........McLaren makes a whole lotta sense since SJ has too many Dmen even with the Rivet deal

BUT they would of likely made a deal last week with the Boyle one

who the hell knows but some team will need some Forwards

Did he not win a Cup with the Lightning? Hey, if the Lightning want Kubina back he's riiiight here haha.

Blades of Glory 07-08-2008 10:23 PM

Kyle McLaren for anything.

oilerfan17 07-08-2008 10:38 PM

Something built around Ladi Smid and Jussi Jokinen would be something that would pique my interest. Adding prospects/picks to either side would almost certainly be needed, but it's a starting point.

would Adrian Aucoin be of interest?... he has 1 year @ 4million left on his deal... or maybe Rhett Warrener to be a 6/7 guy and school the young guys?... he also has 1 year remaining @ 2.35 cap hit

Burlington Bomb 26 07-09-2008 12:05 AM

Dmitri Kalinin for Jokinen:naughty:

Bolthed 07-09-2008 03:16 PM

Warrener was waived. Doesn't that make him UFA?

Suddenly Zyuzin 07-09-2008 03:18 PM
