Don't they belong to one of Russian Hockey leagues?

Sad London Ranger 07-22-2008 08:36 AM

baltic republics, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Ukraine will all have teams in the KHL.

misleading was not my intention..

Blueshirt Brawler 07-22-2008 09:22 AM

Not shocking to me. They couldn't cut it in the NHL as top six forwards so they'll go to Russia and try to be there. Jagr is going to be so bored in Omsk. He's going to give 50% effort and still dominate. I guess that was his plan all along. He does not have to give 100% the entire season and still be the top player in that league.

Because him and Kovalchuk sure dominated crap out of this fringe league during lockout? And Ovechkin with his 20 points was such a force in Russia right before his 100+ points rookie season in NHL.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Morozov win the scoring title again... with or without Jagr in the same league.

Cherepanisimov 07-23-2008 03:37 PM

its amazing how ignorant some people are about the khl.
good in the nhl does not=good in the khl and vice versa.

Thank you. Most people don't realize the KHL is a completely different game.

Funny thing Jagr himself in his recent interview said "i need some time for adaptation cuz hockey on small and big surfaces its two different kind of sports".
