Sherwood 5030 Shoulder Pads

Have any of you had problems with it? Getting hit with pucks? Bodychecks?

Is it worth it? (sacrificing protection for lightweight and motion)

thanks

The answer is rather easy, how much protection do you need in your league. I own a pair that I wear in 1 league. However the other league I play in is a little tougher so I wear bigger pads. I feel the difference ,I sometimes play without shoulder pads. YOU need to judge your league

I play in a men's league, where we can hit.

i would say it depends on your play style aswell, if your eating shots and playing the body these might not be the best choice

They're not the most protective, but lightweight and comfortable as hell. I've gotten pucks and sticks up there and it's been ok, but no checks.

I can't really say if it's worth it or not because that's a personal decision.

yeah, the main reason I wanna change is that my jofa shoulder pads are bulky as hell and I'm forward. I like to throw the body around but my main concern is the shots, I like to screen the goalie for either deflections or rebounds.

If you're D can keep the shots down, I wouldn't worry about it too much. lol

They're about $40. I'd give it a try.
