Wash-Cal, NJ-LA, NYR-MIN

Eklund reports that Gionta could be going to LA, Gomez to Minnesota, and Nylander to Calgary. So lets see what we can do here...

Nylander
Poti

for

Lombardi
Sarich

Brian Gionta

for

Oscar Moller

Gomez
Girardi

for

Gaborik
Skoula

Naslund-Sundin-Gaborik
Dawes/Dubinsky-Drury-Zherdev

Peter Griffin 08-24-2008 01:36 PM

I fully expect to see all three proposals as "hot rumours" on Eklund's site withing the next few hours.

Why do the Rangers have to give up Dan Girardi? I don't think that's going to happen.

Gomez for Gaborik maybe..... if money wasn't an issue :help:

I`d actually like him to play one NHL Season before i Trade Gio for him, But yea seems reasonable. We actually need a puck moving D-Man more than a Forward.

Chris Cutter 08-24-2008 01:39 PM

He strikes again.

If Sather actually makes that trade i will think of him as the Dumbest GM in the entire league. Getting Naslund and Redden for those Prices were Jokes. Gaborik Wont last in the Atlantic Division. Gomez is going to be the Star in New York for the next 5 Years and without him, the offense will struggle with no Jagr.

hlundqvist30* 08-24-2008 01:46 PM

The only reason Gomez would be traded would be to sign Sundin, meaning we would need to free up cap space. The trade you propose frees up about 500K. That's hardly enough.

Sundin wont be playing in the NHL this season, hes kinda made that obvious. Hes either retiring or hell remain in Sweden to finish his career.

And the Kings need defensemen far more than they need Gionta.

Between your silly proposals and Eklund's made-up rumors, you two would make the perfect couple.

i agree.

Reaper45 08-24-2008 02:11 PM

Kings have zero need for Gionta.

Chris Cutter 08-24-2008 02:12 PM

Jeff, when people tells you to stop doing proposals, STOP!

This doesn't make sense for Calgary. Nylander and Poti together are 9 million in salary, while Sarich and Lombardi are only 4.95 together. Calgary will be taking on 4 million in salary, and the Flames are still 1.4 over the cap. Why in the hell would they do this? Not to mention the age difference.

Ha Ha 11 08-24-2008 02:49 PM

none will happen

Hyperkookeez* 08-24-2008 02:49 PM

gionta for moller....are you high?

and why would calgary want old, injured, nylander when they have lombardi who is half as cheap, plays a good 2 way game, and will hopefully breakout offensively this year. not to mention nylanders loss slightly hinders washingtons ability to run 3 scoring lines. poti for sarich id do, but the caps fans probably wouldnt

No he's atleast smart enough to steal trade ideas from lesser known boards...or so I hear.

Kaktus* 08-24-2008 02:53 PM

No way the Caps do that trade. Nylander's better than Lombardi for a scoring role, even if he's expensive (and he's been recovered from the surgery for awhile now), and Poti's better than Sarich for less.

One Man Rock Band 08-24-2008 03:30 PM

At least his fantasy proposals aren't as bad as most people here..

Shadow Flyer 08-24-2008 03:39 PM

I love how my posts were deleted because I called out the OP for what he is....

Very classy :handclap:

LAX attack* 08-24-2008 03:42 PM

Wait... why do the Kings trade a good prospect for someone that has no use to us?

Gionta wouldnt do **** in the western conference

Nikita Filatov* 08-24-2008 03:47 PM

I doubt the rangers trade a high salary player for another high salary player. The only way I see them trading one of their higher priced guys is if Sundin signs, other-wise, I see no need for them to trade.

deanosaur 08-24-2008 03:48 PM

Since when did Sundin become a Ranger?
