dumb question about prague

just wanted to double check, the game will be played on an NHL regulation ice right? not an international rink?

Id assume so, but honestly i dont think ive read a definitive answer one way or the other.

Hmm, good question! I think it will be NHL regulation ice, I know it says "arrangement of matches completely according to NHL" at http://www.nhlpremiereprague.cz/en/nhl-premiere.html
But they also claim Jagr is still going to play. oops.
OT a bit, I thought the Victoria Cup match in Bern was going to be a combo of NHL/IIHL rules but now I'm hearing it will be all IIHL rules. Cool either way.

I can't imagine that a game that counts in the standings isn't played according to NHL rules--including ice size.

i agree, just havent read anything about it, so ill assume its an NHL rink, still though, everything there is international, so theyll have to retrofit the rink to NHL standards, which is why i was at the very least curious.

Inferno, no question is a dumb question. what did they teach you when you went to school.

To your question, it should be on NHL ice since its and NHL-NHL game not NHL-International game. but im not 100% sure.

I actually wondered the same a few weeks back... but wasnt by a computer to try to look it up. Not a strange question. :)

I'm sure irt's easier to shrink an ice surface than to expand it.

That's right, just throw some hot water on it.

The game will be played on NHL size rink. Sweden played Czech Rep. during the Euro Hockey Tour in the arena last season and then it was NHL size so player would get used to it before the WC in Canada.

TUQ 09-04-2008 05:58 PM

The rink will be NHL size (it is adjustable in O2 Arena) and the rules will be NHL rules.

See you there :)
