hlundqvist30* 09-08-2008 08:22 PM

broadwayblue 09-08-2008 08:43 PM

I think we will finish right around 7th.

NYR Viper 09-08-2008 08:55 PM

6th.....

NYRangers09 09-08-2008 09:07 PM

1st, 2nd, or 4th. We will either win the division or be the best team to not win a division.

I Am Chariot 09-08-2008 09:16 PM

Hard to say......... lots of roster changes, although good ones.

6th place

ThirdEye 09-08-2008 09:20 PM

Hopefully we'll make the playoffs, and that's all I care about basically

Lundqvist=Vezina 09-08-2008 09:51 PM

5th I think

Blueshirt Special 09-08-2008 09:58 PM

I'm thinking 3rd or 4th and a possible ECF series.

mti79 09-08-2008 10:02 PM

6-1 OTL..... too early?

Yea just get in with momentum and go nuts.......the East is a crap shot

I will hope for 4th though for home ice first round

Kiefer 09-08-2008 11:38 PM

I think they will be safe within the playoffs this year.

I Eat Crow 09-09-2008 12:20 AM

As high as 5th but as low as 12th is my honest opinion.

Celestial Black 09-09-2008 05:54 AM

Somewhere around 4th-6th.

BobMarleyNYR 09-09-2008 06:30 AM

2nd or 3rd... Drury will have a better season, Naslund and Gomez should fare beter than in years past, guys like Girardi can focus on D and not NEED to pinch, and Lundqvist is Lundqvist. Solid cast of role-players, Mara-Kalinin = Rozsival-Malik circa '05-06. We'll be fine.

I'm really looking forward to see what the rangers can do this season. Nice roster changes and I think Henrik may put up some consistancy this season, if he does, he might very well be the topgoalie of the league.

DontStepanMe 09-09-2008 08:12 AM

i can see them landing anywhere from 1st to 13th. This team went through ALOT of personel changes. if they gel quickly and play well (as in all having career years, or above avg years) they can get 1st. If not and this team doesn't have chemistry it will be a disaster. I think they will be fighting for the 8th seed more than likely though, but their defense could get them higher. i still hate their offense.

Lundqvist is among the most consistent goalies, IMO. Much moreso than guys like Giguere, Fleury, Gerber, even Nabokov. That's what makes him so good. He plays at top level night-after-night. He'll have one or two bad stretches per-season, but never for more than a month.

Fletch 09-09-2008 08:59 AM

It depends on factors..

unknown at this point.

Fletch 09-09-2008 09:05 AM

Marley...

Lundqvist is consistently inconsistent. During the first 1/5 of the season, he was on, and each night he was consistently great. During the next, say 2/5 - 3/5, he was spotty, and on some nights dreadful. He finished the season good. That's not consistent to me. And in the playoffs, he was fine, but giving up 3 or more goals 6 times and 10 games isn't all that great. Too many games with 3 or more goals being given up, although when averaged with his shutouts and one goal games, it looks real good. Almost like the reliever with a 4.00 ERA - doesn't look that great, but when he goes 8 innings in 8 games while giving up zero runs but gives up four in one other game, it doesn't look too good, which is why I sometimes don't rely on stats and feel that averages aren't the best measure of stats either.

So true. When he's playing well, he's nearly unstoppable. But then again, there are the games where he could let in goal after goal. Can't really blame him though, a lot of those games where he let in a handful of goals were fluke goals or just the Def. not showing up, at all, and leaving him out to dry.

I think this season is really tough to call. There were just so many changes. On paper the team does look really solid - dejavu of last year isn't it... If the chemistry builds and Renney actually gives the lines a chance this season, I can see them being either first or second in the Division.

Pitts still seems like the team to beat, and Philly, well they will be a pain too. But I would imagine that they are saying the same about the Rangers. This division is too close!

Ahhh, can't wait for hockey!
