Kings vs Yotes 9/16 Rookie Game #2

Right from the yotes website........

The game is underway. Phoenix controlled most of the play in the first several minutes producing three chances. Los Angeles responded tallying the next four shots, but no goals to account for.

mysteryman 09-17-2008 04:14 PM

Kings forward Vladimir Dravecky took the first penalty of the game with a tripping call at the 9:30 mark.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 04:21 PM

The Coyotes mustered a couple shots, but to no avail. The Coyotes took the next penalty when Kevin Porter was whistled for holding at 12:13. The Kings would create three scoring chances on the power play, but couldn't get anything past Gistedt.

The Kings would take the next penalty of the game when Andrew Campbell took a holding call. The Coyotes would respond. Kevin Porter fed Chad Kolarik into the empty net for a 1-0 nothing Phoenix lead.

My Bad...should have done that. I cant change it though so Tony will have to do it.

Update-
Los Angeles would remain undisciplined. Wayne Simmonds took an albowing penalty with 1:33 remaining in the period. The Coyotes created one shot before the final horn sounded. Phoenix will start the second period with the man advantage.

Is this not being webcast?

Chazz Reinhold 09-17-2008 04:35 PM

It is not. There is a live box score on the Coyotes' website, though.

Tony-Wan Kenobi you're our only hope....

TonySCV 09-17-2008 04:45 PM

Done. Enjoy.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 04:47 PM

The Coyotes couldnt muster anymore shots on the power play before elapsing. The Kings continued to play physical. Simmonds completed a big body check on Porter. The Michigan grad would get his revenge. Porter nailed Simmonds along the back boards, but Simmonds landed a rabbit punch after to earn a two-minute minor for roughing.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 04:48 PM

The Coyotes would add another goal on the power play. Daine Todd would finish a rebound off a Kyle Turris shot to give Phoenix a 2-0 lead.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 04:55 PM

The Coyotes would take the next penalty when Tyler Johnson received a holding call. The Kings almost cut the lead when Oscar Moller rang on off the post, but to no avail. The Kings would hit the post again when Josh Kidd ringed the outside of the post. The Kings had no official shots on the power play, but several strong chances.

Richard Clune and Jonas Ahnelov would drop the gloves at 7:55. Both players landed a couple shots, but it ended up being a wrestling match with Ahnelov taking down the smaller Clune.

The Kings seem to be stinking in this game.....down 2-0 with only 7 shots on goal.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 05:00 PM

Kings Trevor Lewis would take a hooking penalty behind the L.A. net on Kolarik to put the Coyotes on the power play. Phoenix wouldn't generate a shot with the man advantage.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 05:02 PM

We are taking way too many penalties

must have had a flurry....It went from 7 to 13 in like 3 minutes.

Chazz Reinhold 09-17-2008 05:06 PM

I think the 7 you were reading were the first period shots.

The Dingo 09-17-2008 05:07 PM

Phoenix would get another opportunity on a developing three-on-two. Turris dropped it off to Jared Stall, who would put in on net. The rebound jumped over a streaking Turris, who had an empty net available.

Kopi The King 09-17-2008 05:08 PM

what happened to the webcast?:help:

The Dingo 09-17-2008 05:10 PM

The Coyotes would get a couple opportunities before the end of the period, but Linden Rowat made a couple great saves to keep the game at 2-0 going into the second intermission.

dabeechman 09-17-2008 05:11 PM

Who is in net? All these rebounds don't sound like Bernier.
