Claude Lemieux attempting a return

From RDS :http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/260344.html

Basically says that at 43 and beeing retired for 5 years, he now miss the game and beeing with the boys so he wants to play again. Says hes been training hard for 10 weeks and is willing to start in the AHL to prove he can still contribute to an NHL team.

What do you guys think are the odds of a team picking him up?

Galchenyuk x 27 09-23-2008 04:08 PM

not very high.

JMMR 09-23-2008 04:09 PM

LeSean is going to be excited.

CareyClutch 09-23-2008 04:10 PM

Lemieux to Montreal (e4)

GoneAway 09-23-2008 04:11 PM

Oh lordy...this just made my day...

cneely 09-23-2008 04:15 PM

Heh.

Would add to the already fierce Bruins - Habs rivalry.
Lucic - Lemieux battles would bring to mind the old Neely - Lemieux rivalry for sure.

ti-vite 09-23-2008 04:16 PM

Like him or not, he was a habs playoff great.

GoneAway 09-23-2008 04:16 PM

Im guessing he's broke

Believe It Or Not: Claude Lemieux Making A Comeback

Breaking On CKAC.

At age 43, Claude Lemieux has resumed training and will return to play.

waffledave 09-23-2008 04:22 PM

THIS IS AMAZING.

I'm so happy.

Phil Parent 09-23-2008 04:23 PM

Sadly, it might just be being broke.

The 40 years old line is so hard to cross for hockey players...And Lemieux has been inactive 5 years at age 43...

Habs10Habs 09-23-2008 04:24 PM

lol...I thought this was a joke.

Macs 09-23-2008 04:24 PM

Ridiculous!

He should coach if he miss hockey atmosphere.

NHLcrazy 09-23-2008 04:25 PM

good ol pepe Lemieux...loved that guy...10 years ago!

C-Saku Koivu MTL 09-23-2008 04:25 PM

I'm sure he could crack the Leafs line up...

Beakermania* 09-23-2008 04:27 PM

I'd offer him a spot in Hamilton.....

Right beside Don Lever on the bench as an assistant coach.

Booba 09-23-2008 04:27 PM

He should go play with Theo Fleury and try to win the Allen Cup, this could be a great challenge

But I doubt that he would stick to the NHL...

Clumsyhab 09-23-2008 04:28 PM

Hopefully, Carbo and Gainey stay away from their old teammate.

Jaysfanatic* 09-23-2008 04:29 PM

I'd take him in Lowell.

Fire Brunet* 09-23-2008 04:30 PM

I loved Pepe back in the days :yo:

Actually he would be an awesome addition in Hamilton as a assistant coach. Or he could work with Lapierre to show him how a real pest plays hockey.

znk 09-23-2008 04:34 PM

No way in hell.
