Blues have terrible D...

mostly due to injury.. but whatever.

I'm going to say 5-4 Toronto. 2 early goals for the Leafs, a comeback, a tie, and the go-ahead comes early in the 3rd.

anyone know how many rooks the Blues plan on sending out there?

mapes 09-29-2008 06:49 AM

Is it Vesa or Cujo for this one? Vesa, isn't it?

What do you think our lines will look like?

Scratch that, it's Toskala tonight.

Some players who may not play due to soreness: Finger, Moore, Stajan and Blake

So my guess is maybe something like:

Antropov - Grabo - Kulemin
Hagman - Steen - Tlusty
Mayers - Bell - Hollweg
Earl - Mitchell - Williams

Kaberle - Schenn
Stralman - Frogren
Kronwall - Colaiacovo
Sifers

Toskala
Cujo

What's Finger sore from?

I'm going down to this one, hoping to see some of the Blues young players play too. Really want to see Perron.

Took a shot off the foot on Friday it said in the paper so they may keep him out of the lineup just so he can fully heal it.

Here's the exact quote:

Quote:

Leafs defenceman Jeff Finger, who took a shot off the foot Friday, remains questionable for tonight's home game against St. Louis.

Several Leafs, in fact, have been sidelined by either blocking shots or by straining muscles in training camp. Centre Dominic Moore has a mild groin strain and will take the morning skate today, but is also questionable for tonight's game.

During Saturday's game in Buffalo, Matt Stajan took a shot off the knee but hopes to be ready for tonight's game. Winger Jason Blake is also hoping to ready after he hurt his foot blocking a shot on Saturday.

At least, for now, the Leafs injuries aren't too serious.

Larcos_Unal 09-29-2008 08:35 AM

They'd be dressing if it was regular season games. Since these games don't matter its no biggie to sit them out.

SavardKariya 09-29-2008 09:19 AM

Ya keep an eye on Perron, hes coming into his sophmore season and is a dandy.. Also, Im assuming both Oshie and Berglund will be dressed, the Blues 2 big rooks.. Berglund is often compared to a young Sundin, so keep an eye on him..

Very excited to see all three of those out there.

I haven't seen Oshie since WJ's a couple years back if I remember correctly..

If he can be compared to a young Sundin then we won't have to make a special effort to look for him.

Ya, he's quite a talent...I love the direction the Blues are going in great youth and team that could surprise this year...ya, I said it!

leaflover 09-29-2008 09:32 AM

The Blues for some reason have selected quite a few prospects i like recently.Perron, Lemtyugov, Oshie, etc.
Should be interesting to get a look at some of them.
How is Lemtyugov doing?

Is it just me or does anyone else think both Tlusty and Kulemin would benefit from switching lines.

Kulemin started the pre-season on that line but Wilson took him off.

I don't know. That line of Tlusty Steen and Hagman is a nice blend of scoring potential that should be solid defensively as well.

Berglund is the player that I had hoped our Leafs would select when we selected Jiri Tlusty. Tlusty was the highest rated by CSB but I would have gone with the big Swede instead if I was Leafs Director of Amateur scouting.. :)

Always been a big fan of the Patty Berglund even before he was drafted.

PS. Interesting story attached to the 2006 draft .. Barry Trapp was just released and JFJ replaced him with Dave Morrison as Dir of Amateur Scouting.. Trapp came on for an interview after the draft and said he would have selected Anthony Stewart little brother Chris Stewart (Kingston Frontenacs OHL), with that pick.

Knock on wood, but this has been the healthiest pre-season in a decade for the Leafs.

zeke 09-29-2008 10:48 AM

Poni - Antropov - Kulemin
Tlusty - Steen - Hagman
Mitchell/Grabovski - Stajan - Blake
