# 4. Jeff Carter
# 5. Mike Richards
# 5. Mark Savard
# 6. Eric Cole
# 6. Detroit
# 7. Mike Ribeiro

# 9. Brodeur
#10. Tomas Kaberle
#11. Parise
#12. Simon Gagne
#13. Vokoun

retired:

Brendan Shanahan
Mats Sundin
bunch of other scrubs

Who to add?

compile 10-18-2008 02:25 AM

Sundin isn't retired, neither is Shanahan.
Remove Richards, Cole and Moore. Actually if you are basing this off last year you can pretty much remove 3/4 of the list. :P

Seems like it but I'm not... I bet all these playsrs will perform way above norms if facing us.

R. J. Umberger

Can't believe I forgot, damn selective memory.

Everyone plays better against the Habs for the fact that, as TSN said it on the home opener....

"Growing up in Canada, you were either a Canadiens fan, or you hated them with a passion."

And seeing how the Montreal Canadiens are the most recognized NHL franchise in the World (mostly Europe), everyone either wants to play for them or against them.

I wouldn't say R.J Umberger.

I'd say Carey Price rookie.

Philanthropist 10-18-2008 02:36 AM

Marty should be at #1. I mean Jesus the guy almost singlehandedly kept the Habs from beating the Devils for over two years, until we finally broke the streak last January with that amazing comeback win.

Other notables for your list: RJ Umberger, Martin Biron, Nikolai Khabibull**** and Brad Richards.

Retired?

How about the old legion of doom and a fella named Big John Leclair

Edit: Add any and all quebec born players playing at the bell centre infront of family and friends...that is the greatest hab killer beast of all?

John Leclair's stats against MTL were insane. It was so frustrating, he absolutely owned us. I can't think of a bigger Habs killer over the last dozen years.
If we want to go a bit farther back, Andy Moog would probably be a good one.
EDIT

I'd put Alfredsson before Spezza and Heatly... but maybe that's just me.

Also add any french canadian goalie, especially backups.

It's not just you.

Cole at #6 is too low... but for some reason he killed us more often when he wasn't really that good.

Jeffrey 10-18-2008 07:28 AM

what about brodeur ?

ReVeuF 10-18-2008 08:16 AM

Actually I think Vokoun > Olli in terms of habs walls, Olli was just.. there.. and so were the panthers... lol

But for a while we couldn't beat them, wasn't cause of Jokinen tho.. it was the system.
