LOL @ Duck Hunts

used to love that game! Perfect game to be released on the Virtual Console for the Wii...if they change it so it works with the wiimote

Habs10Habs 10-25-2008 11:13 AM

Thanks B of S, Harry probably had a wild night and is sleeping in. ;)

Oh btw...I love the Laraque gif.

znk 10-25-2008 11:15 AM

Habs best GAA.
2nd best 5 on 5 goals for vs goals against ratio!

Mcfly11 10-25-2008 11:15 AM

This might have already been discussed....but does anyone else find those bottom two lines pretty weird? Seems like they're wasting Lang and Higgins' offensive abilities by pairing them both with a couple of grinders. (Though Lapierre has been pretty decent offensively thus far)

HIGGINS :D:D:D:D

"Christopher Higgins will make his season debut with the Canadiens tonight against the Anaheim Ducks. Higgins, who has been sidelined by a groin injury, said he expects to start the game on the fourth line with Georges Laraque and Maxim Lapierre but he'll probably finish the game with Robert Lang and Tom Kostopoulos. " - habsinsideout

Kostitsyn likely back Tuesday night

Cupmonger 10-25-2008 11:16 AM

awesome, nice, I <3 the Laracque gif, and nice duck hunt pic ... although it looks like Markov is doing something very naughty to Pronger

Markov :shakehead

Nah, it was talked on rds, and I sort of agree. Carbo and BG may feel like we need to make a center out of higgins, it might not be a bad idea since we might lose a center or 2 after the season. But I think that they may just be trying things out, and we'll see higgins playing on the third line during the game.

Amputechture 10-25-2008 11:19 AM

gonna be great to see higgins back in the lineup and I cant wait to see a.kosty return. Will be so nice to see our full healthy lineup all playing together!!

great to hear that a kost is doing so well....

as for higgins, this whole process has been such a tease so I wont believe it until I see his skates on the ice for myself.

I think they want to easy Higgins in. Let him figure out if his groin is really ok.

I had a dream the Habs were up 1-0 going into the 3rd.

Let's hope they can hold onto that lead.

Things that worry me about this game:

-Quebecois goalie in Montreal on HNIC
- The long rest, 4 days of light-hearted practicing. I remember the year after the lockout we played Anaheim on a Saturday night after a week of rest and we got dummied. But those were the Julien years.
-Brisbouillon.

On the other hand,

-Ducks must be dead tired. Flying to the east coast and playing 3 games in 5 nights, including last night.
-They almost coughed up a 4 goal lead last night, spent a lot of the 2nd and 3rd on the PK
- They managed 4 shots in 2 periods against the Leafs for godsakes.

Should be interesting.

Bretvincent 10-25-2008 11:48 AM

Here's hoping the Ducks got all their scoring out of their system last night and have nothing left for tonight ;) Go Habs!

Hopefully Higgins feels comfortable tonight, I can't wait to see him. This guy is a terrific player, and without him in the lineup this season, it seems like people have already forgotten what he contributes to the team. I just hope that Carbo still has faith in the guy, because his quote from yesterday was sort of puzzling (about how Higgins was recovered physically, and that staying out of the lineup was more of a mental thing), because I could see that as being a shot against the guy (or maybe I'm reading too much into it).

Anyway, it will be a good test tonight. We haven't fared well against Western teams in recent years, and despite all the knocks Anaheim has gotten this year, they are still a great team.
